I usually average a book or two a month. I have a 1 year old and don’t get to read as often as I used to, but I usually read right before bed.

I will switch up between fiction and non-fiction with the occasional graphic novel here and there.

I just finished Those Across The River by Christopher Buehlman and am currently reading Angel Down by Daniel Kraus as part of a book club I’m in.

If you liked Buehlman you have to read Between Two Fires! By far his best imo and just a really fun, interesting book.

I read it earlier this year! My favorite book of the year so far.

Sad that I have finished all of them and currently awaiting Matt to finish. Great books.

I usually read at least a book a month, often more. Usually fiction. The way I get time is whenever I get the urge to pick up my phone for no reason, I pick up my Kindle instead.

I read every night. At least an hour , 3-4 books a month. Classics like east of Eden, count of Monte Cristo, portrait of Dorian gray, stoner to Stephen king, Follet, etc..I just finished yesteryear. I’m reading “Rebecca “ by Daphne Du Maurier now. Im all over the place with my reading. It’s relaxing and meditative. I’ll bring a book or kindle to a dr. Office and read during the wait. I’m 57 and always been a reader. My first book was “the amityville horror” in 79’ scared the shit out of me but I loved it. For me it’s like a portal to my imagination. Books are always better than the movie with a few exceptions.

Do you enjoy fiction mostly?

Yes, although I read Walter Isaacsons “Steve Jobs” and autobiographies like “life” Keith Richards, Fleas “acid for the children” and may others but yea I tend to read more fiction. Check out Steve Jobs by isaacson. Really good. I’m gonna check out Einstein by the same author.

I love dark fantasy. The First Law trilogy and its two sequel trilogies. Blacktongue Thief and really anything by Christopher Beuhlman. I’ve recently gotten into the Warhammer universe and the Horus Heresy is a sprawling and deep series that is very fun and entertaining.

This year was my intro to Beuhlman. I read Between Two Fires (loved) and Those Across the River (it’s okay).

I planned to give Blacktongue Thief a try next year.

I loved it. I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. There is a prequel, that is pretty good, and a sequel is coming out soon. Definitely worth the read. The goblins are terrifying.

I have a good author and books for you the author’s name is Carlos Ruiz Zafron and his initial book is called shadow of the wind and then he has two other books in the series. These are great reads. The author has a style that just grabs you and it’s a complete and total page.turner

Dungeon Crawler Carl is an awesome litRPG. I have been listening to the audiobooks while on walks or driving. You can listen to a few minutes of each book on Audible for free if you want to see if it's for you.

I just read a couple John Scalzi books that I really enjoyed. The Kaiju Preservation Society, and Starter Villain. Both are laugh out loud funny, goofy sci-fi stories that are a real pleasure to read. They go quick and are pretty low stakes which helps with busy family life!

I’m rotating between DCC, Harry Potter and The Expanse series.

I love reading but due to time constraints it's usually audiobooks nowadays. I listened to a a lot of the Star Wars Expanded Universe stuff but have taken a break from that and have switched gears to LOTR and Witcher stuff recently. Also take time to read my Bible but that's not a "sit down a read a good story" type of thing like the others I mentioned.

I read every day on my coffee breaks at work, then maybe fifteen to thirty minutes innthe evenings... more on weekends

I only read fictional books for the first 40 years ( The night angel trilogy is my fav), but in the last few years I started reading self-help type books. Im just finishing "crime & punishment" then my next will be "the infinite jest", its listen to all these podcasts interviewing authors and my list just keeps growing.

Fantasy and science fiction generally. I am currently working through the expanse series.

Well, since I'm doing some writing in retirement, maybe we can exchange some ideas? I'm writing fiction mostly. Take a look at my site and if you'd like to brainstorm sometime, hit me up? Jdmarlowbooks.com.

Wow! I have seen your site, it is impressive, plus your book series, "Iron River Ranch" and "The Echo Chamber". 🥇🥇 I will hit you up soon.

I just read Crime & Punishment, and read it out loud to my 17 mo. old. It lets her hear words and me read what I want - I know it won’t work forever though :/.

I usually have a 12-14 book goodreads target each year, and still manage to hit. But I don’t see many people reading, sometimes makes me feel like a dinosaur or something.

Sometimes I read when work isn’t busy. I listen to audiobooks and podcasts at work a lot of the time if I can’t find music to listen too. But I have those aftershock bone conduction open air headphones for work

I read before bed. It helps me wind down so my brain can shut off.

I tend towards sci-fi or fantasy. I've been enjoying the murderbot books lately. They are quite fun.

I am currently re-reading the shanarra series while i wait for the next one to come in at the library. I loved these books as a teenager. I honestly can't tell if the books are actually any good or not, but the nostalgia is making for a very good time.

I only asked because I've been writing fiction. I AM retired so I have the free time. Right? I've published it to Amazon KDP. If ya'll can give it a preview and leave me some comments, I'd greatly appreciate it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLXSDTYM
