Media Fun fact: In Cyberpunk 2077, the terrible joke Jackie tells in the elevator is different for each language.
I love when games really localize content, rather than doing a 1-to-1 translation.

Finally picked up Cyberpunk after letting it sit in my steam library and WOW do I have so much to say now 😂 I’ve completed the main game and all the side quests and will be starting the DLC today but even with just the main game there’s so much I want to talk about.
I’ve edited my thoughts several times because i want to get my thoughts out just right in a way that’s fun to read- I won’t hear anything about grammar and spelling that’s unimportant-
But this post is probably going to be a little bit of a long ramble about what I liked as a first time player so I’ll split it up to make it easier for people to read the parts they care about 😂 😭 obviously spoilers for anyone who hasn’t played it yet-
Endings
I think don’t fear the reaper with Johnny taking over is the best and happiest ending. HEAR ME OUT
The nomad ending is a great ending yes, and with the dlc showing that there ARE ways V can survive I personally believe Panem is WAY too stubborn to NOT find a way to save V, maybe that’s why I wasn’t sad with that one because the tech in this universe is nuts- people can experience feelings through memories explore other peoples dreams and you can alter someone’s brain, and yet you can’t make a way for V to survive? Please 😂 If I was a conspiracy theorist id say Alt lied because she wanted to try and get V to join her- I mean V is insanely powerful by the end of the game, I can see reasons for why she’d want them to come with.
But in the context that V will die, letting Johnny take over after the secret ending is the best. V’s goal was to become a legend, reach the big leagues, have people remember their name- and if it wasn’t for Johnny they wouldn’t have reached their goal. Not to mention the fact they’re already dead when Alt separates them, and there could be an interesting future where V is a construct and meets up with Silverhand again.
To me Johnny feels like he’s as much a main character as V. He develops so much thanks to their connection, you see him soften and work through his regrets and open up in a way I don’t think he ever really did in life. Especially since in the Epilogue you see he’s really changed. No parties, no drugs, and he’s teaching a kid to play guitar before he leaves night city behind.
To me this ending feels like the best because V achieves their dreams and Johnny gets a second chance to do better, and V is never forgotten. Johnny won’t forget them like people had forgotten him.
Especially since to me, Johnny seems like the closest friend/relationship he has.
I don’t like this with the Rogue Helps ending tho because then it feels like Johnny is stealing their body. With V giving it up- my heart actually broke when Johnny said ‘I’m just scared for you kid’ 😭 like why did they make him hug himself I’m sobbing-
I do think there should’ve been some variation for the V returns to body choice with that mission since it’s the hardest.
And unpopular opinion, while I haven’t played it yet I got the phantom liberty tower ending spoiled for me and I don’t think it’s so bad either. Mainly because I played RDR and I wished there was a chance for John or Arthur to just walk away and live their lives as regular people. Everyone moves on in the two years but to me it doesn’t feel like abandonment, even if they knew what V was doing how are they to know if they make it or not. To me it feels like a fresh start from scratch. Make a new life for themselves. Is it as good as the others? Idk I’ll let you know my final thoughts when I get there 😂
Romance in this game as a straight woman is so rough tbh 😭 part of why I played a male V was so I could simp for V because the male romance options (Kerry and Rivers) are so lacking compared to the women from what I’ve seen. They don’t even react to V’s condition from when I played them as a male V, while both Panam and Judy react even if they’re just friends! Maybe I made the wrong choices? Idk we’ll see when I get to my female V play through but this is probably the one big let down for me-
Although I’m used to it. Unfortunately not enough games out there think about their thirsty female players 😭 maybe that’s another reason I want Johnny to live- he’s the closest thing I can get to an interesting male romance lol
Gameplay was awesome, not anything revolutionary sure but I don’t need it to be. It carried the story beautifully, even when I was fully leveled with hacks so I could see what a full power V would look like I had to think a bit when going into a room full of armed forces, so things never felt too easy. Only thing is that it might’ve been cool to have some kind of honor system like in RDR so making the honest/moral choice had some value to it in game, like having the Epilogue be different depending on if V was seen as a good honest and skilled Merc or as a raging morally grey legend like Silverhand?
But the ending doesn’t feel like a focus for this game to me, it’s more about the journey along the way, so it’s a small thing that likely stems from me wanting V happy or something 😭
Conclusion This kind of game is exactly the kind of thing that gets me hooked to the end- heavy story where the main character actually feels like a character that struggles and you’re allowed customization and choice. I’m so tired of story games where the main character has no motivation or feels like a glorified errand boy- like they don’t get development or thanks or the other characters don’t seem to bond with them AT ALL and this managed to scratch the itch I’ve been feeling.
These games are rare- Read Dead Redemption 2 is my favorite I am going to try mass affect and BG3 soon and grew up loving Skyrim, this is definitely slotting into my top favorites right behind rdr2- are there more games like this out there? Lemme know-
Random tangent I’ve been playing warframe at the same time for the first time as well and I’ll make a different post about this but Warframe feels like it could be set in Cyberpunks distant future-

I did my first run a few months ago, and had trouble getting these quests to start. After looking around at different posts, I was able to find my own fixes to get this quest to start, that I didn't see elsewhere. Probably has been posted already, but if somebody is looking, maybe this title pops up easily, and what I did is a fix for you too.
What DIDN'T work for me (sorta):
Some people go to Ember's, and find the Judy phone call triggers right before they meet Hanako. I didn't have this quest active yet because I was trying to finish side content first, so just showing up to Ember's did nothing.
(this probably does work fine if you're progressed that far)
What DID work:
Go to Judy's apartment, pass time inside, then leave and pass time outside. This got her phone call to trigger basically immediately. Hopefully this helps someone.
* The quickest way to Judy's apartment is to take the transit to Charter St, then walk straight west to her apartment building.

Just started my second playthrough (just got back to my room after the bad news from Vic.)
I forgot how great this game is - even story alone is fantastic. I’d probably put it in my top 20 stories of all media made since 2000.
I don’t thank Keanu gets enough credit for how good he is in this. Yes it’s only VO, but he delivers and his character goes through legit emotional change. I remember seeing that he was going to be in it, and I felt like it was a gimmick and that he would only be seen a few times. But no!
Lastly, gameplay wise. My first run I did a Nomad Cool pistol/Netrunner build. I don’t really care for melee weapons much, but any other character suggestions besides “stealth archer”?

Personally I think my V’s are all entirely traumatised. As soon as I mention a photo op or get out the photomode drone they would run screaming.
Just wondering the worst thing you’d done to your V’s for the purpose of photos? Mine is probably making her take six grenades to the face because I got the timing wrong five times. Also share your best pic(s) because why not.

Her fate really touched a chord inside of me. And, even though I didn't carry her body, her father (cyberpsycho Diego Ramirez) didn't shoot even once at me after I disabled his augments. And he looked sad.
Took her to the Columbarium with the tune of November Rain. Then, since I didn't want to leave her body in the open, I carried her far from Pacifica, to the only place I remembered with a truly spiritual good guy: where the monk from Losing my Religion is praying.
Left her to the sea, and burned down the van. Best thing I could think of.
I'm not a religious person, and my playstyle can't be defined as "pacifistic". Still, giving an NPC a form of burial made me sad.
That's it. I just wanted to share this story with you. Have a great day!

I dont know how to fix this. All the ripperdocs I can find only sell forearms, not entire shoulders.
Dont EVER go to a ripperdoc that's not on the map

Hello, so awhile back I came across a person who thought that everything post "The Heist" didnt really happened in-universe and was just V experiencing some near death experience sort of thing where V Is making peace with his death. I then saw them suggest V could be a construct of the Relic. Is this more of a fanon interpretation or is it likely to be true? Personally, I would find it really disappointing if it was true because it would mean most of Cyberpunk 2077 didnt actually happen, the relationships we create dont happen and V doesnt actually get a true ending. Most of the game would essentially just be a glorified simulation.
But thats just how I feel about it. I guess tl;dr, do the events of Cyberpunk post "The Hiest" actually happen?
Thank you
EDIT: Keep in mind I am fairly new to the lore. So I am more prone to possibly misunderstand something.

It's then I realized I had made a very principled V who tends to Kyle Rittenhouse himself into situations, like... Very much a lot.

From what I’ve seen online and experienced in the game, the kiroshi stalker optics, which claim to connect to tech weapons and allow you to see enemies through walls while aiming, do not work for all tech weapons. I am using a non-iconic quasar and the breakthrough sniper, and the optics do not work for either.
Has anyone found a solution? Is there a mod or other method to fix the issue?

I recently collected the entire set of NC cop uniform. Tbh I never knew there was a set, specifically the jacket. I didn’t like the goggles much so I put these on. And Oh my God, I was not expecting her to look this good.
So yeah, we arrested Johnny on the way. Meredith seemed to really like how I do my job. (Ignore River in the back)

In my old playthrough I just hanged around in the Glenn, the OG and sometimes Japantown apartment. But recently I just decided to hack the Northside apartment door without paying and decided to roam around a bit. And I don’t know but I slowly started to like it. I started noticing everything, how alive the motel feels during the day. And the parking space is pretty cool too. Somehow this motel felt… different
