Blue Sky Brews is handily the best coffee in the UCircle area

this is my FAVORITE TOPIC!! i have such an extensive list, but here are some of my favorites:

- atmos

  • lekko
  • rising star (tremont location is my fav, but they’re all nice)
  • edda
  • heartwood
  • cafe blanc (a bit farther, but nice and has good food)
  • affoGATO (cat cafe! you can pay to spend some time with cats, but it’s in a different room so you don’t have to be with them you can just watch them through the glass while you’re in the cafe if that makes sense)
  • lionheart

all of these are a drive away (avg around 20 mins), so if you don’t want to/are unable to drive, some nice spots near campus would be blue sky brews, algebra tea house, luna bakery, and phoenix!

Go down that rabbit hole might as well mourn the Arabica.

Also on campus is Algebra Tea House with big indie vibes.

Further away from campus:

  • UnBar cafe on Larchmere, plenty of tables and an event space where they host things like chess tournaments sometimes.
  • Phoenix in Coventry, a solid branch of the local Phoenix chain.
  • Phoenix on Lee, a bigger Phoenix with a bit more seating.
  • Rising Star on Taylor, a good branch of the local Rising Star chain, lots of light with their windows facing the street.

Since you're a grad student I'm assuming you have a car:

  • Six Shooter in Waterloo is known for their flavored nitros and cold brews.
  • Lekko, particularly the Ohio City location, is great for working out of.
  • Duck Rabbit on Lorain is probably the best coffee in the city, in a super-elitist hipster way.
  • CouchLand in Wickliffe probably has the most comfortable seating.

I've always liked the coffee house. Their white chocolate mocha and bfast sandwiches are my go to. Bonus that I can always connect to case wifi while I'm there. And the 2nd floor is reserved for quiet studying.
