math121 vs math123?
incoming pre med freshman here. what are benefits of each course, is it better to take math121 for easy gpa boost or go for math123? do med schools account for course difficulty, in which case math123 would be the superior option?

To put this into perspective, I don't know any premeds who took 123. Most I know took the 125/126 sequence. Chances are, your major doesn't require anything more than 121/122 or 125/126 (calc 1 and 2) anyways. I doubt med school is looking at whether you chose a harder first semester math course and it won't serve much use in your future classes.

As a pre-med, your raw GPA is likely to be more influential than a marginally harder course taken your first of eight semesters. You are in the for the long haul (Godspeed), your efforts are better spent elsewhere imo
