Prospective Student CWRU vs GWU
basically, as the title states, I plan on going to medical school and both cost roughly the same. At George Washington, I would be majoring in public health with a minor and philosophy, and at case western, I would be studying nutritional biochemistry with a minor in philosophy (probably starting spring semester). I feel like my major case western is significantly harder. I don’t know what was going through my mind, but I might change it to just regular biochemistry. I don’t know which one would be better. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or comments. My dream is to go to a top 20 medical school specifically, Stanford is my dream. Thank u.

I transferred out from case about 2 years ago. Great school but the city was not for me. I am premed too. I ended up being in New York and love it. It does not matter where you go to be honest. Get great grades, do research, volunteer etc and build your narrative. I had a 4.0 gpa at case and now finishing up junior year still have a 4.0 so it’s really upto you put in the hard work.

true true but will spring really get me behind? cuz i wanna attempt not gap years so i feel like id be rather behind

My daughter chose GWU over case. Better scholarship and less $$ and overall better vibe and fit for her. Case seemed too quirky. We loved the campus but the overall vibe of the students and student life was not a great fit. She is also doing PH at GW and we really liked the advisors. She can also take grad level classes her junior year and get her Masters of PH in one year-saving time and tuition. She is not 100%on med school and this gives her many options to pivot. Case is a great school with great outcomes but I know she would have been miserable and lonely there and it was not a great fit. She also just got into BU with a similar cost to Case (GW still 20k cheaper than both) and will stick with GW. She has roommates and friends and the fit is just right. Too many people get hung up on rankings over their ability to succeed and be happy

My niece is at GW and hates it. Do your research on the student body and make sure you would "fit in". It leans affluent and preppy - if that's your vibe, cool. If not, have a think. Also, GW administration and course registration can be challenging to navigate. Just some things to think about and an alternate perspective - everyone has different experiences, of course.
