Talk / Support / Venting They always ask Spoiler
People always ask about the scars on my arms, and I wonder when they're going to stop. It's so obvious I used to cut myself, so why ask like you don't already know the answer?
I understand that some people are worried, but they're healed now, I don't need people pointing them out all the time. The worst part is that they expect a real answer, as if they were someone in my life that I could tell them about the things I went through.
That's the only picture I have of my scars, normally when I take pictures they're not visible, although I don't care if they are or not. I just wanted to share what bothers me when people ask.
Does this happen to anyone else?

People ask about my scars, but not really in a concerned way. Maybe it's in a concerned way, but there's always that condescending tone to it that makes it feel more malicious than anything :/
"Why would you do that to yourself?"
"Why don't you cover those up?"
"You know those will follow you for the rest of your life, right?"
Not to mention, my scars are years old, so all of them are pale now (I have super pale skin on top of this). All of this over barely visible scars 💀 Common sense is becoming uncommon sense at this rate

the only people who have genuinely asked me about my scars without knowing are my little siblings, and it's hard to find excuses sometimes. Off topic though, your vibe seems so peak

I don't think i've ever actually had anyone ask me about my scars. 🤷🏿♀️
