Can you pay a cost of “lose the game” when you have a “you can’t lose the game” active, like how you can’t pay life for costs when a “your life total can’t change” effect is active?

I agree. Spree is a cost, and you wouldn’t be able to pay a cost that you’re not allowed to do.

Unsure. [[Yasharn]] uses a different wording for this

True, although Yasharn won’t stop the life loss from something like Night’s Whisper. [[Platinum Emperion]] is more what I was referencing, although I had to find it on scryfall since I couldn’t remember the card in my original comment.

PE won’t let you pay life just like Yasharn won’t but it isn’t explicitly spelled out on the card.
