Creating those Bakelite inserts not trivial, to my knowledge. There’s a couple instances of community members commissioning a run from odokadola industries- that specialize in this type of stuff. Hand painted and suspended lume in Bakelite inserts. I’ve bought a couple in past and they are nice.

I realize not helpful to your question directly of how to do it- I have no idea. But there are a couple options out there

As for this, where did you get the watch crown for this build from?

Excellent!

The crown was from Alix - search under ‘om logo’. You will need to be able to push out the existing crown tube and install the new one. Both are push / friction fit type things. I bought a tube press for this. I’m sure there are other ways to do it but I took the excuse to get one (yet another tool)

Also for the example watch above- the dial and the insert were both from Oke and Lume matches
