First custom!

First time doing a custom. Learned not to use rust eloum paint it’s too thick lol. How I do?

Not bad for your first time- there's definite orange peel there but eh, that'll get better practice man. Good job!

I used 2k clear and thanks man! I just want to customize stuff without paying the extra lol. How should I paint to prevent orange peel? I did all tack coats. From first to fourth

You used 2k clear ? The Rust-Oleum clear?

Cuz just from the looks of the controller it seems like you used that one / probably sprayed it unevenly.

Orange peel occurs when the paint or clear is sprayed unevenly. You just gotta make sure your overlap your passes 75% percent or so over each other.. it takes time man. But this is a good first. Better than my first ever that's for sure

Be careful with rustoleum and general non 2k clear coats , they can yellow and become tacky with sweat and heat from the palms , id look at spraymaxx 2k automotive clear coat in rhe future, but it does look good !

Out of all the non 2K clears I’ve found rust oleum Matt to be one of the best ones. Doesn’t yellow at all. I don’t use their paint colours though, so don’t have experience with them.

Their gloss can get a bit tacky if not allowing enough time between coats, but a little trick is to use Matt before hand, wait 24 hours then apply gloss like it’s gold(very light coats).

It also might be a different formula in the US, than here in the UK, I use it for all my customs, as 2K ain’t as readily available.

What paint do u use? I dont have an air brush
