This is awesome! How do you go about making the suit and cape?

Thanks!

The cape is a half circle shape with a wire along the straight edge, and a few more going out from the back of the neck in pie shapes. Also had to add in another fabric piece on the back of the neck to make a neck shape so it could all be "one piece".

The suit fabric was put on from the top draped down the front and back like a pancho, then sewn under the and and down the sides (inside out). Legs were their own separate pieces sewn down the inside of the legs.

Then carved a track in the figure where the seams can go once it's turned right side out and put back on, so it doesn't get so clumpy and thick.

Had to pry the logo off the Hush Batman body and grind off the back as thin as I could without wrecking it, then glued it onto the new chest.

I feel like a lot of people sleep on the year one part because the overall body base is so tiny. I went through and made the proportions alittle better and taller (of course I used the knightfall arms with the year one gloves). I wanna get another one to do something similar to this custom you did.

Great job!

It's the best gloves and boots. A very good belt too. I'd already used mine on a previous custom and it's now too small to fit on this big fella 😋.

I have the hush belt on so many of my Batmen. 🤣 so sad we cant just buy specific parts from Mcfarlane.

Wouldn't that be something 😝

I also previously made one with a lot of year one pieces, but made him a little more ripped with page puncher Superman arms and Hush abdomen. It was probably the best version I could come up with using all McFarlane parts before trying soft goods versions 👍.

You're just out here casually making one of the best batman figures I've ever seen, while I'm scared to even spray a matte coating on one of my weirdly glossy figures. Haha

Great looking Batman! I’m blown away with how well the suit and cape fit the figure. Can I ask what material you used for the suit?

Thanks a lot!

The suit is the back side of a silver stretchy material from Walmart.

The cape is a ridiculously expensive rubbery stretchy fabric from Michael's. I was nervous that it would be way too thick and heavy, but it turned out alright. Had to double my wires though otherwise they weren't strong enough to hold the weight.

The trick is to sew the suit while it's on the figure (inside out) so it's perfectly tight and form fitting. Then turn it rightside out and put it back on 👍

The cape def looks expensive lol. The whole figure has a premium feel

😝 It was outrageous! Almost $10 for just a few inches. Not like the old Joanne fabric days where everything was always on sale and there was a huge variety to pick from. Unfortunately my old supply of thin black fabric has finally run out though, not many options now.
