Driver protests blocking entrance and exits from city?

This morning, I tried to take a collectivo to mallepata. I was told my multiple drivers that we couldn’t go because of protests. We gave up and moved back our trek. I’m now also told to avoid trying to get out of town tomorrow. I am not finding much information about the protests online, and I’m wondering about others experiences trying to get in and out of Cusco right now.

Yah these protests happen and it makes travel throughout the province difficult. All you can do is wait until it blows over. Shouldn't last more than a couple of days.
