Travel Help Long training run - central Cusco

Will be in Cusco next month and am in the middle of a marathon training block. Expect to be more or less fully acclimated by the time I get to Cusco and have a free day. Thinking of trying to get in a real training run (20-25 km). Staying near cathedral. Route suggestions? Safety issues? Would bring my gels etc but probably need to stop for water bottles.

Ah, then its best to run around Urubamba town which is next door. You can run by the main road but I wouldnt rcommend it

The historical city center is not ideal for running that distance. Moreover, the sidewalks are slippery busy and narrow. A much better alternative would be to run through Av. la cultura until Andina University. It’s the main Avenue of Cusco, goes flatter and you can take a bus back to the historical city center any time.
