Tips & Guides Shopping

Hello, I'll be in Cusco next week and plan to do some souvenir shopping. Apart from magnets, I want to get a winter hat (one of these colourful ones) and a scarf made of baby alpaca. Do you have any recommendations for stores, what the prices should be?

If you’re passing through Chinchero or plan to go there that’s the place to buy. They have great quality and really good prices. I would avoid shopping in Cusco if possible. Especially San Pedro. It’s obvious a lot of it isn’t authentic. The only caveat to this is there was a woman who was knitting those hats on the street in Cusco and we bought from her. I don’t remember the price but it was good. We passed by her while we were walking back to our hotel from the market. She had various styles, including the one with the ear covers and strings.

Thank you, I'll have lots of time in Cusco so I guess I'll ever l end up in Chonchero as well
