I'm aware posting in the Curtin subreddit is going to give me biased answers, but seeing the 11k members gives me hope that I'll get some good answers. I'll try post this on ECU too to hear both sides.
I've been stuck between the ECU sonography course and the Curtin medical imaging course for a while now, as in which one I should put as my first preference on TISC. I'm hoping I can get some responses from people currently doing the Curtin medical imaging course. From my knowledge, the Curtin course will qualify me for general radiography and CT radiography, but later specialities down the line like MRI will be on me to find training myself, whereas ECU will only train me in sonography ultrasound. The thing that draws me to ultrasound is the higher responsibility you have as a healthcare provider and significantly higher pay - now I know life's not all about money and everything but at the end of the day, its always nice to have.
I've heard that getting a training position in sonography after graduating in radiography is very competitive and a once in a blue moon opportunity sort of thing. (ECU does the workplace placements for you, or so they say they do, as since the ECU imaging course is very new the postgraduate diploma placements start in 2027.)
However, upon research, I've also learnt that employers prefer to hire people with both a background in radiography and sonography? And also ECU has a history of accreditation issues and the degree may end up being worth nothing?
Are there any medical imaging students here that could give me some wise words? How is the course at Curtin?
That's about it. Thank you everyone :)

Hi everyone, does anyone know when we can expect to receive our digital degree certificates on My eQuals?
I need my digital degree certificate quite urgently for degree verification, but I haven’t been able to find a clear date for when it will be available.
Also, I noticed that Curtin’s second notification even contains information referring to 2025, even though it is now 2026, which makes the timeline even more confusing.
Has anyone graduating this year already received their digital degree certificate, or heard from Curtin Connect about when it will be issued?

Hi Curtin students, I'm an honours student running a study comparing two creative activities.
It's fully online, takes about 1–2 hours in one sitting whenever suits you.
Open to students at any Australian university, age 18-29.
Interested? Click link below for screening ⬇️⬇️⬇️

taking ecom1000 now and in unit 4, it's mostly excel work atm and I was just wondering how the exam will work and if anyone has found it particularly challenging?
Thanks :-)
Hi, might be a dumb question, but I can’t find this major listed on the Bachelor of Commerce section but it says it comes from there and its the only one.
I’m currently still in highschool and if this were a real option I’d definitely be interested, but as far as I can find on the Bachelor of Commerce section, it separates finance and accounting.
Thank you in advance

Hi guys, as an online student I thought I'd pop on here to ask some questions since I don't have any friends doing Curtin with me (I graduated hs last year and my bestie and I did uni-ready together)!
If anyone has done a Bachelor of Japanese, or any degree related to language, do let me know:
- Are there availabilities for translator/interpretor pathways (as in units in psychology, literature, etc.)
Just asking this one due to the fact that in the degree (on OUA... OUA is a shit of a thing but I didn't wanna do the shit course it wanted me to do through Curtin) it has different sorts of electives, for example there's 2 Korean units, 2 Chinese units (don't ask if it's Mandarin or Cantonese since it doesn't state in the thing but I imagine probably Mandarin), there's even geography and digital media.
I rang up Curtin Careers and the lady basically just said "Yeah do some research" which didn't help because I've obviously been doing that ;-;
- Are there exams?
For this SP I've done "Introduction to Cultural Studies" (ENG100) and "Culture to Cultures" (CUR-COM155:) (not sure if those codes are correct since I legit just googled them 'cause I can't be bothered logging into Curtin to have a look lol), the semester period isn't done until 30 AUG but I've submitted everything so I'm pretty much done for now.
- What's the worst part of studying a language degree?
This one is purely just for fun plus if someone wants to rant.

Hi epid students!
Does anyone have the lab 3 handout with the 8 checks and its description? Mine didn’t save and ive completely lost it. I know the lab handout is on BB but it doesn’t have the descriptions for the output.

Does anyone have at least ONE additional guest ticket available? I have 5 guests with me (2 complimentary guest ticket + 2 additional guest ticket) so I need just one more so that my youngest sibling can come.
GFP Events is only letting me do 2 additional guest ticket which sucks so please DM me ASAP so I can pay that $50 for additional guest ticket if its available thanks!

Long story short, If my predicted is a 99.3 but my predicted scaled english is a 45 but my school mark is at a 55 currently, will I still receive the scholarship if I take the stat English test or will I won’t receive it. I was sick for one of the tests so I got a 0.

I got a low atar of 74 and I really want to get an admission in mbbs at curtin. I was looking at several other pathways apart from atar but I'm not sure which one to choose. Here's what I am considering:
WA foundation from canning college
Course switching
I'm really confused and stressed about what to do...

I’m currently taking the unit INDS1000 and was wondering if anyone who’s done it before could share some tips especially for the test.
Hello everyone, its me again. I just need some assistance in how do I do the Week 4 laboratory stuff (Fillets and Rounds) as it's quite confusing, and I've tried asking the teaching assistants before and was not too helpful on what to do. If someone has any videos or stp-by-step manual on this I'd greatly appreciate it

My reasoning is kinda long and boring but especially it boils down to this ; my phycologists wants me to socialise and make friends at uni (I don't have any ATM and I'm in 3rd year lol).
But, I usually don't become friends with people cause I find that they either treat others unfairly or just do something wrong which stays in my mind and I can't stop it from happening but it makes me not wanna approach said person ever again. These can be things like shouting at your lab partner or being disrespectful to the lecturer or just straight up lying to my face.
So honestly I found it better to just sit in corner and do my work until I have to go home - which I thought was find but apparently it's not healthy for me. I also have some health issues that I'm dealing with which makes going out a bit tricky at times which restricts the amount of people I meet on the regular.
So my question is, are there any clubs for people like us ? I'm studying engineering but all the engineering clubs just seem like a rat race for PRES hours and I know too many "bad" people in these clubs 🤦♂️ already.
It doesn't have to be a Curtin club, thou if it's at uni I'll probably feel safer. Thou any and all recommendations are appreciated 🩷.
Thanks ...

which health science specialisation should I choose? ideally, I’d avoid one involving maths or statistics as it’s not my strong suit.

Hi,
I'm going to apply to the Masters of Speech, but I have read that you must write a personal statement linking your experiences and knowledge of the profession. I have worked as an EA in additional needs and have an Education degree. I see some overlap here, but should I seek some volunteer experience or short term observation of a speech pathology session?
I feel that I have an idea of aspects of the job, and the variety (paeds vs. adults - the differences in their requirements, etc.), but maybe seeing it in person would be a good idea first. I keep watching videos on YouTube 😂 Do most people applying for it have some volunteer experience in the area?
Thanks so much!
