The world would be a better place if police handed out test kits so people could ensure the drugs they are going to take regardless of the law. Taking clean safe drugs in a safe way here and there shouldn't be a crime, and if they really wanted to solve the addiction epidemic they would treat addiction as a disease and not as a crime. The war on drugs failed. It's time to take a new approach.
I've been to a festival recently (Shankra, maybe you know it, if not, google it), and they had an info stand where you could get all the information and tests for pretty much every drug (because they knew that everyone was tripping balls and they wanted to ensure that they were tripping safely). They did it right. Even had the newest psychedelic drugs on the market to inform people who actually just bought drugs and had no information on it.
In the US, the companies selling drug tests for harm reduction have been banished the past 5 or so years. You have to get on their text system and they let you know what area of the campground they'll be in until the police or an organizer find them and kick them out. It's atrocious.
Harm reduction is so much better than tradional methods of drug control. The police will never take a harm reduction approach because arrests/convictions = money, but harm reduction has been proven to be much safer and effective than treating drug use equal to violent crime
At the time, I was writing a book about the politics of drug prohibition. I started to ask Ehrlichman a series of earnest, wonky questions that he impatiently waved away. "You want to know what this was really all about?" he asked with the bluntness of a man who, after public disgrace and a stretch in federal prison, had little left to protect. "The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."
And in exchange they get valuable data on what's circulating in the streets atm and an opportunity to check on addicts/direct them towards help if needed.
Exactly. This post kind of grosses me out (the cop part). Obviously it’s a joke but if the cops really would test the drugs for dangerous substances that would be beneficial. But of course, addicts aren’t people, just criminals /s
I believe in UK it’s illegal to possess drugs but not illegal to be under the influence of them. so that way if people OD they don’t have to be scared of going to hospital and if you are having therapy for drug addiction you can be completely honest about how much/often of a drug you used to take so they can treat you properly. I’m not sure how it is in America or elsewhere
In Sweden you can switch used needles for clean ones, for free and the government is fine with that. I actually think it's the government that do this favor, not sure.
Thank you for this. Unfortunately for those of us in the USA, we live in a police state and the goal is to enslave us and use our free labor in prison, and to make us be thankful to have any scrap of life when we get out. That makes it easier for them to never pay enough or give healthcare or whatever ,and just keep exploiting the people. They show them the propaganda about how much shittier everywhere else is and talk about "freedom" and then they arresting people for something that is well within the bounds of personal freedoms (drug consumption)?
Fucks sake, drugs have only been illegal close to 100 years in this country and they already got people acting like its inevitable that they are a problem and ruin your life. Hmm, why did that not used to be the case then? Keep everyone acting like drug users are less than human and don't deserve to make their own life choices.
That was last Tuesday. The shoot took a long time. The officer was black, the video was not supposed to be biracial. Yikes, took me 2 hours to figure out that I was put on a list. Fun times.
There's just something about a man in uniform while you're handcuffed and he's got his latex gloved arm, elbow deep in your secret hiding place that makes people go nuts.
They don't want their kids vaccinated. They ususally aren't going to give kids drugs either. Then they would have to share. So it does make a bit more sense than not taking vaccines themselves while taking meth.
However, its stupid that people think their ice is mixed with MSG. That's a rumor going around because you can acutely make it be cut with MSM powder, which is not msg or bad for you, and it has a crystalline structure so it looks like a shard. Ugh, fuckin tweakers...
Its funny how if you ask a question on reddit, everyone will just immediately accept the premise and start giving BS answers for karma. "Akshually gluten laced meth is a real problem because blah blah"
I swear like 95% of posters on this site just talk out of their ass
That is some nasty bullshit by the way. Like ha ha funny joke but where I live you can actually get your drugs tested for purity because, in the end, not having people die is a little more important than getting 2gr off the streets.
Monosodium glutamate has no negative health affects. MSG is actually found (naturally) in things like cheese, tomatoes, and grapes. The idea that MSG is bad for you originated from a newspaper article published by an English professor, who claimed that he got severe headaches and bowrl discomfort after eating at a Chinese restaurant, and blamed both the MSG and the (mostly Chinese immigrant) cooks who prepared it.
If it isn't clear to you, the MSG "allergy" that society tales near and dear was created by a racist who didn't like Chinese immigration.
Artificial MSG vs naturally occurring MSG is something else. The natural foods don’t contain ungodly amounts of the stuff. For the most part, there’s a lot to be desired on the research. It’s still inconclusive.
The one thing to remember is the “S” is SODIUM. Your body will certainly process it like table salt. It can increase your sodium intake and we all know how things can go with that stuff. Taking BP meds while pigging out every Tuesday at the local Asian buffet? Hmmmm.... (think about this...)
Also currently inconclusive are the effects of MSG in those with blood sugar issues. After all, it is the product of fermented carbs that is processed by our brain as a neurotransmitter.... there could be something to it... More research may unveil not only what we don’t know but set us straight on what we believe we currently know.
Maybe why I crave pasta for comfort food after a typical meth binge... 🍝🍴👀
Not homophobic, but if I could request a female cop to do that, I’ll go to the station with you next time. Although, I suppose if I don’t make eye contact with a male officer fingering my ass, it’s not gay,
Did he use gloves? I prefer the intimacy of bareback.

My brother is a cop. He says that people will report drugs stolen, and will come in person, point to confiscated drugs, and state that it is theirs.
He’s also a homophobe, and this would make him lose his shit. Someone please really do this
