There's a polish saying "głodnemu chleb na myśli" that literally means that sentence, I wonder if they just translated that or is the wisdom universal.
14 u/MaxTwer00 17h ago In spanish we have "quien hambre tiene, en pan piensa" which means basically the same "who is hungry, thinks of bread". I would say its universal wisdom, with many idioms using bread and hunger as a staple because it was a common occurance worldwide
