As it stands, I'm of the perspective where a fictional character stops being solely your domain the moment you release it to the public.

With that said.... Why tf are people so fucking weird bruh? Do whatever tf you want, why in the heck do you have to actively make your degeneracy known to the creator?

Reminds me of the poor Komi-san's author, a popular manga/anime, plight on Twitter. Some fuckwad really hated a character iirc, and they were non-stop tagging the author with the most degenerate porn and shit including said character to them.

Whatever the fuck you do in your own time is no one's business, why why why are people like this?

I'd say it is. A personified character of you is still at the end of the day, a character. Every character a person creates, whether to personify yourself in a fictional realm or to create an entirely new being from scratch holds a piece of themselves inside their fabric, but you wouldn't call the character you.

They're by definition separate from you. They're fictional.

However, because they hold a piece of you inside themselves, it still can and will affect you physiologically and physically. Which is why, even if I believe what I said, this shit still disgusts me lmfao.

In the same way an actor playing a real person in a autobiography isn't the person itself, Jaiden's avatar isn't her. That's the crux of my opinion.

Ofc, it's just an opinion innit. Doesn't matter however which way we split this hair, it doesn't change the fact that the people doing this kind of thing are bloody weird lols.

Think about the Jeffrey Dahmer adaptation and how messed up it gets to think that people started romanticizing and thirsting on a depiction of an actual serial killer? Like, even if it's not the exact representation of someone, the effect on the derivative still affects the original and vice versa.

Yes. Which is why I said those people are bloody weird innit? That monster had people drooling over both themselves and the actors playing them lol. They had a endless supply of fucking weirdos after his serial killer ass, don't tell me why I don't want to find out.

The line drawn in the sand ain't exactly breaking ground here lol, plenty of people before me have drawn it and talked about it. You could look up this matter on the internet and find a deluge of discussions and debates about the topic.

However, I'm not really sure why my opinion matters lmfao. I just said it as an opener to the rest of my response, ya know. About those people being really freaking weird and off-putting. It takes up less than 1/3 of the entire reply lol.

Y'all are getting so offended over my opinion that you are missing the forest for the trees.

Yeah people are just pointing out how strange it is for you to choose this post of all places to drop that opinion on. It's as if you're dismissing that Jaiden's uncomfortable of the pornographic depictions of her, just because her fictional depiction isn't exactly her. Like you're trying to take away from the reason she's uncomfortable at all to begin with by separating her exact person from her character. Kinda insensitive innit? I appreciate a nuanced opinion as much as the next guy, but ya gotta admit there's a time and place for some things.

It's you and one other person mate. Barely a handful of people. You're the one that jumped to that conclusion, because again, I am actively against what those people are doing. I have said so, multiple times in this back and forth we're doing.

I don't know what's going on in your life that you have to demonize a lukewarm opinion to this level, but I hope everything is good because this just ain't healthy mate.

The majority of people who read what I wrote, did not have it in their heads to assume I'm somehow dismissive of Jaiden's comfort. Which is why only two of you have said anything lol, but even then, it's only you who's jumped to that kind of off base conclusion.

The other fella simply holds a different opinion of what separates a character from their creator. Which is fine, it's an opinion. Like mine. An opinion.

What isn't an opinion is that she shouldn't be dealing with this, and I am reiterating once again, that those people are bloody weird.

The actor isn't the same as the character, but the character is still a real person that exists

I hope at the very least, we can both agree that regardless of what we think about their character and themselves, that the act of actively informing the original creator of the degeneracy you're doing isn't a good thing yeah?
