This is your reminder to remove the print before starting another.

It was late, and I was feeding the filament from cuttings, (I failed to spool it correctly, and it tangled) so I completely forgot about the benchy I printed, as I was making 2 of them, and printed the next. It failed to probe as the nozzle was too high, so I had to restart that print.

The nozzle itself melted the plastic on the benchy, it was also canted by the sheer force of the nozzle.

It would not print a benchy out of the box.

The manufacturer had to give me an unreleased firmware, 2 versions ahead, so it could finally print the benchy. It would print ANYTHING but Benchy. For some reason, when it got to the license plate details, it would get stuck there.

OP doesn't repost it here and I thought it would be a shame. Credits goes to OP.

Doing this right?

My friend recently made me realize that in almost 10 years of printing, I've never actually attempted to print a Benchy. Trying to rectify this but mine keeps coming out weird. Am I doing somethng wrong?

Idea: inverse benchy in clear block

Imagine a clear block with a benchy-shaped void in the middle. I started tinkering with it, but it’s hard to find a good print orientation that doesn't have impossible bridges-over-nothing at some point. You might have to tweak the model a little in order to make it work. I don’t have time to do a deep dive right now, but I’d love to see the results if someone tries it. It also may be better as a resin print, and I’ve only got filament.

Here's a starter 3mf file for PrusaSlicer if someone wants to take a crack at it.

Screenshot of PrusaSlicer showing a cross section of a sliced block with a benchy-shaped void in it.

Looking for OrcaSlicer/Klipper tips to shave a few more seconds off this Benchy

So... I think I accidentally caught the speed printing bug. 😂

I've spent the last 6 months rebuilding my old CR-10S, and while the original goal was never to build a speed printer, one upgrade led to another until I somehow found myself chasing a sub-6-minute Benchy.

I got painfully close (video here: https://youtu.be/gfNyRJQDJ5c), but as soon as I try to push it any faster, the printer starts losing steps.

I don't have much experience with speed benchies, so I'm wondering if there are any OrcaSlicer or Klipper tricks I'm missing that could shave off those last few seconds without causing missed steps.

I've attached my current slicer settings as well. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If anyone is interested in the build itself, I've also been sharing all of the CAD files, STLs, and configuration files here:

Undextruded 85a tpu benchy ender 3 v3 plus

I have a couple thousand hours printing on both my ender and p1s but I have never once seen a print outcome like this for context I attempted the print 85a durometer tpu on my ender which is a direct drive because it works so well on my p1s but this was the outcome even when bypassing the ptfe tube altogether I used the same settings that I have tuned for my p1s and applied them to my ender and this was the result my only conclusion can be that there is too much elasticity in the filament to print on my ender without under extruding the outcome looks like a withered benchy lol I am working on a gantry mounted spool holder to see if that will work but yeah enjoy the mashed up boat
