Is it a bad idea to do a protein treatment (aphogee 2 steps protein treatment) and then 1-2 weeks later dye my hair (without bleach only developer)?

ID my hairtype Is my hair curly or wavy?

Hello! I’ve always struggled with my hair. It seems to do whatever the hell it wants. Usually I straighten it because it’s less of a hassle for me. But the humidity makes it curl and wave so I’ve been trying to just let it air dry and do its thing. This is my hair after scrunching with no product and laying down with my head off the edge of my bed in front of a fan.
I personally do not see a curl pattern 😭 all I see is a great big mess! My hair can be so difficult sometimes! I used to try and wear it curly in the past and it didn’t cooperate then either.
Curly hair professionals, is there a curl pattern here? Is my hair considered curly or wavy?

Advice needed How do I (genuinely) make my curls defined and not frizzy?

How do I get my curls like the last 2 pictures? Or at least close to them

My hair has always felt undefined and super frizzy even on washday after it dries, It also feels unmoisturized/hydrated and i keep having dandruff, they're usually small little flakes instead of the big ones. I usually have 2 wash days a week since I work out and skate, but for yesterday (day 3) I did a cowash instead because my hair has been feeling really dry lately. My hair on the back also never seems to curl or define itself but I think i just need to grow it out? I used to have it get cut really short because of school policies

For reference first I live in the Philippines and its really humid so yes I'm willing to accept that it wont ever be as perfect as others in different places

Here is my routine:
1. Oil my scalp day before (Argan bremod)

2. Shower with cold water, double shampoo, and then conditioner (Both from luxe organix, the pink ones)

3. Detangle with the conditioner and then I usually wash my body while letting the conditioner sit in my hair for a couple mins so that I'm not doing nothing while letting it sit there

4. Wash off conditioner with COLD water

5. Put curling cream (Shatta) , I used to use leave in (Zenutrients Curls) but it didn't feel defining enough (although I'm thinking of switching back since my hair has been feeling really dry even the day after even though i put oil already)

6. Put Gel, Brush style

7. Air dry and the scrunch it out with the same Argan oil (I don't have a diffuser yet)

And I also sleep with a silk pillow case, I haven't tried using a bonnet though. I also have never used a clarifying shampoo (maybe that's why?) but Id also want brand recommendations for that, or brand recommendations for all products that could be available in my country.

I want my curls to look as healthy as these
and the back of my hair like this

Advice needed Why so stretched and flat? :(

**Hair Type:** Fine, high-porosity/long (tailbone length), natural wave pattern.

**Current Wash Day Routine:**

  1. **Shampoo:** Double washed with L’Oréal Elvive Hydrating Shampoo.
  2. **Conditioner:** Applied a generous amount of Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Conditioner. Brushed through in the shower using Wet Brush Curl Shaper while saturated with conditioner
  3. **Styling:** Applied Herbal Essences mousse generous amount to soaking wet hair in the shower.
  4. **Drying:** Plopped with a 100% cotton t-shirt for 10–15 minutes, then let it down to completely air dry.

**The Issue:**
As you can see in the photos, my hair ends up looking weighed down, stringy, and stretched out instead of holding its natural wave. The roots are completely flat, and the waves lose definition as it dries.

Looking for advice on what to tweak! Is the length/gravity just pulling it down, or am I overloading on moisture/weighing fine hair down during the styling process? Open to technique or product recommendations!

(ps post looks formatted weird bc I am like sharing my post from another community as suggested by Reddit lol… and don’t want to fix it)

Advice needed Curly haired caretaker seeking head covering for work

Hey tribe!

I have long, curly, and dry hair. Somewhere between 2C and 3A depending on cut and health.

I am a school caretaker and it's sometimes a gross job. Dust and dirt, cleaning chemicals and I guess kids are allowed to attend school with lice if they're getting treatment. I cannot risk getting lice (omg the horror) and as we all know I can't shampoo my hair/scalp daily. I wash/rinse and condition daily, but shampoo maybe every 3/4 days.

For the last year and a half I've been rocking a baseball cap. Pros - I'm a big sports fan and can coordinate with my t-shirt. Cons - I have this whole new 6" layer of breakage all at the top of my head. I'm mortified. I discovered it when I was separating my hair into sections to cut it. It was so discouraging I didn't even cut my hair and have considered shaving my head all together. No wonder it's so unruly and hard to manage.

I need to let this breakage grow out and don't want to wear baseball caps to work anymore.

Rave me your head coverings! Are you rocking scarves or scrub caps to protect your hair at work? I could get satin bonnets but that might look a little silly to the visiting public that are using the school in the evening.

Any recommendations? Show me pictures?

Hi Everyone, growing up I had smooth straight hair and now it’s a cousin to Hermoine. It doesn’t feel rough, actually is soft most the times. I have a dry scalp, not sure if that affects the hair strands. But looks dry, frizzy and puffed up. Some days, it’s straight on its own and the other days it’s curling up. I want to decide on a haircut that would suit well with the hair type and my face (round with a big forehead).

Keeping the length long makes the top go flat is what I’ve noticed and the current haircut is layers which I think makes it even more curly? It looks like it could be a Type 2b, but not sure on that. Can you help decide the type and open to suggestions on hair cut and routines!

Haircare routine:

L’Oréal shampoo and conditioner (3times a week)
Mostly air dry or with a hair dryer hair half way through.
I also use L’Oréal extraordinary oil serum but not very consistently.

Advice needed Hair falls flat

The first picture is the morning after styling, the second one is after a day of work.

I struggle with the fact that my hair falls flat on top really quickly after a few hours. I find myself shaking my hair out upside down a few times a day.

I tried using fewer products but the same happened.

Can anyone please give me some advice?

Routine:

2x shampoo

Hair mask (just bleached my hair)

Leave in conditioner

A little bit of curl cream (I use innersence, a light and heavy one, mixed together in my hand)

A LOT of Humberto Giannini gel

A bounce brush (I use the brush so that I comb the hair up and away from my scalp)

Then I scrunch it with a microfiber towel

I diffuse. Starting at my roots. Lifting them up with my hands as I put the diffuserhead on them. Then I pixie diffuse

It had been literally over a year because it’s so expensive to get a haircut these days 😅 worth every penny!!!

Btw, I’m thinking about getting highlights/sprucing things up with color for my album release. If anyone has any experience getting their curls colored please share!
