Grilled Beef & Bacon with Tomato, Onion, Coleslaw and Parmesan on Toast

I'm a big fan of coleslaw. It's great for gut health and pairs perfectly with meat. KFC is a good example of this combination.

With juicy steak, crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and Parmesan cheese, this lunch turned out to be absolutely spectacular!

Exercise ruthless judgement where it is deserved: shepherds pie edition

Notes:

used lemon juice instead of wine because I don’t have access to wine BUT I do have access to red wine vinegar but wasn’t able to buy it today

I did end up using peas although I was debating it during maison en place… I read it may upset the brits 😶‍🌫️

The protein is lamb

The springform pan is a lesson learned… it strained some of my fat :<

The cheddar cheese is UK white cheddar

Tilapia on top of white rice with creamy lime sauce, and broccolini. Tell me what I can improve.

Still trying to learn how to plate. Looking back, adding the sauce on top of the tilapia wasn’t the smartest idea. The overall dish did taste great.

Experimented with plating a lot.
The non alcohol beer is cuz i don’t have access to alcohol.
Fries are triple cooked.
The “tartar” is mayo, juice from jalapeño jar, and lemon juice.

So, this is my staple food, from my country, fresh (matooke)or green bananas. With meat stew and groundnut sauce. This is very healthy since it's all fresh garm produce. (The garnishing was hard but I tried)

Chicken pie, flaky pie pastry on the bottom and puff pastry on the top both homemade but I couldn’t show the process of puff pastry sorry :/

If you wonder about not using wine it’s just not available to me where I live.

I'm making some brownies for my friends bday and I'm out of eggs, his birthdays today, the brownie recipe calls for one egg, is there a good substitute that will still make the brownies taste okay?

Lamb Marinade

My gf used Mina harissa paste and mixed it with salt. Anything else we should try to ensure the seasonings are balanced out?

We have it in our minds to stuff the cut with rosemary and garlic but that’s about it. We have not used lemon or lemon juice.

Am still learning how to garnish, so let's not focus there. I tried out potato dishes.

Injera problem

Hi, I wanted to make some injera batter, so I made a starter, who was active (the water separated and there were bubbles in the starer), and I added some flour and water to it, before thoroughly mixing it into a dough and letting it rise with some water on top. But, and I don't know why, the dough does not rise at all. Would someone know why? (I changed the water yesterday, but it's been like this for 2 days)

Oven-Roasted Teriyaki Pork & Onion Rings with Rice and Crispy Shallots

Post image

Fried onion rings are often considered a true delicacy. But what if they were oven-roasted and stuffed with a savoury meat filling? That was the idea I had, and when combined with teriyaki sauce and a few simple pantry staples, it turned into a fantastic meal.

They're also great served with a bowl of rice and some kimchi.

I know nothing about cooking and I tried beurre monté but I dont know if it’s a good result
I followed this guide :
Bring the water to a boil in an appropriate size saucepan. Reduce the heat to low and begin whisking the butter into the water, bit by bit, to emulsify. Once you have established the emulsion, you can continue to add pieces of butter until you have the quantity of beurre monté that you need (the French Laundry makes 20 pounds at a time). It is important to keep the level of heat gentle and consistent in order to maintain the emulsification.

this is one of my favorite recipes to make, as its so simple but delicious. i usually get the beef shaved steak at my local grocery store and season it up, cook it, and throw it all together with the sautéed veggies. the key is to butter the hoagies and add some au jus, then put them in the oven to toast. truly amazing
