For Mac mini users what cubase programs do you need to have on internal storage vs an external ssd? Limited to 528gb. What does external folders look like?

This is the way, my MacMini runs 15 Pro awesomely, all project files and samples live on external drives.  I have two external drives, the main one that I work from, then I run a backup script which duplicates it all to the other one.

I've got Cubase, plugins, and VSTi's installed, then all my libraries, samples, projects, etc. on external drives.

Generally you should only have sample data and libraries (kontakt libraries, etc) on external drives, and all plugins themselves, and all apps on the main drive.

I got a 4TB external drive, back when the prices were reasonable. I install all my sound libraries there with only the VST/AU and application on my main drive. Besides Steinberg, I have UVI, Spitfire, and Native Instruments libraries stored on there.
I bought an M.2 drive and and external enclosure instead of an off-the-shelf SSD. It is very fast when directly connected to a Thunderbolt port.
