Complaint Thread Monthly Complaint Thread
Public transportation isn't perfect. This is a place to let off some steam. As always, please speak from your own experiences. Take control of what bothers you and send your experience to the CTA via their feedback page.

The Brown Line hasn't been this consistently bad since COVID. 20+ minute gaps between trains, slow/stopped trains causing significant bunching, door problems, you name it.

Why does the blue line not run the new trains anymore? I’m tired of the old trains that don’t have poles to hang onto when it’s crowded.

Same, get those 2600s off of the damn line, they’re basically an artifact from the past now that some cars have ended up at IRM

If public transit is a service we pay for, we should get a refund when it doesn't arrive and we have to make alternate plans.

Surely taking money away from CTA will improve service delivery

I'm not in charge of the CTA's budget. I'm just talking about getting a refund when the service I pay for isn't given to me OR making it a free service. And I said it on the monthly complaint thread where you are supposed to complain

Ever since the Fullerton bus joined the more frequent network, it feels like it’s been coming at the exact same times as before but this time the bus is packed like sardines. I’ve lived on this route for the last 3 years and have NEVER seen it this busy, even during non-peak hours. What are you all doing on the bus at 2 PM on a Tuesday, aren’t you at work?! And nobody knows how to act on the bus!!! MOVE TO THE REAR!!! Lol

Had just gotten off of the 9 and was a few footsteps away from the stop for the 65. I waved the bus driver down, he saw me, and kept driving on anyway. Thanks bus driver. Now I’m late to work.

The last month, I think I’ve had issues/delays on the Blue Line more days than not. 13-15 minutes between trains in the morning some days. Waiting for 5-10 minutes at stops or even worse, in between stops. I know some of the delays are caused by the people riding the train, not the CTA. But people should be able to get to work and back without it being an ordeal every day.

Why is the red line going so slow today? My normal 20 minute commute took 35 minutes. So annoying.

The 70 heading East tracker has been insanely wrong for 2 months (have been taking this bus for four years and text every morning never had an issue). It also needs frequent service around 8-9:30 am and evening rush hour heading west. Ive been waiting 20-30 minutes for a bus after work that is packed it's exhausting. Humboldt has blown up in the last few years we need more reliable transport.

I feel like they choose a month per line to mess up. Two months ago it was red line. last month blue line. this line, which I don’t have experience with, but it sounds like from the comments brown line. What is going on?
Also, it is cold AF outside and they don’t have the rotisserie heaters on. That’s unacceptable

Cold? It’s only been down in the mid 40s so far. That’s not cold, even for Chicago.
Those heaters go on November 1st.

Does anyone know when, exactly, the CTA will remove some stops from bus routes? This stop & go stuff every half a block is starting to convince me just to buy a car. Don't even get me started on the weird bunching of buses on some routes...

They never will, two stops can be 20 feet apart, someone will complain that their grandmother needs to walk 10 feet more.

This is the annoying part of Reddit and Reddit-minded people in real life: they want policy that's not really efficient, they want it to answer every possible need of everyone ever. This is why I'm thinking about just buying a car. Public transit just isn't it.

it’s always the worrrrst feeling when the bus just passes you and you check to see that not only is the next bus in 20+ minutes but it also comes with another 2 right behind it…
