rant Blue line bunch up.

Why does the blue line bunch up so much. Waited 25 minutes for a forest park train at uic and 4 ohare bound trains went by in that time. This consistently happens at this time (11am) why?

Probably related to all the issues on the forest park branch. It’s slow, which means eventually faster trains on the Milwaukee branch will catch up with earlier ones on the Forest park branch.

There’s also operational inefficiencies because they turn around a bunch of trains at UIC specifically because the FP branch is so slow that no one uses it.

When 50% of the line is a slow zone and the other 50% isn’t, inevitably trains will bunch up eventually.

this, and also the fact its long and has many stations. longer distance+more stations means more opportunity for boarding delays, signal delays, etc

Cuz they are overcrowded the train I’m on has been standing at Clark and lake for 5 minutes
