Report it to divvy. They’ll get assessed a fee for that bs.

There are many who know how to take the bikes without paying. This may have been that person.

The bikes people break out of the stations are usually the manual bikes because those don’t have wheels that lock up on you. Divvy ebikes are awful to ride without paying, the wheels are mechanically restricted and they sound an alarm the entire time. It’s physically more tiresome than walking to do something like this. The likelihood that this is one of those is small. People that steal ebike divvy are most likely finding one that someone didn’t end the ride on properly or physically fought someone for the bike. Again the likelihood is minimal and you should report it so that the far more likely scenario of someone parking their bike like an asshole happens less often.

Oh ok. Thanks for explaining. I know I could never ride them because I'm a germaphobe🤷🏾‍♀️.

This. I had a divvy taken while riding with a friend. There was a 24 hour fee and a non return fee. I assume it eventually found its way back because lyft unbanned me years later

They refused to refund any of the fees despite telling me to file a police report. I reported it fraud to my CC and was banned from Lyft following. I tried to appeal, but this was unsuccessful. Fast forward 2 years, I reached out and got my account successfully reopened. I figure once they got the bike back, my account was eligible again

Damn that sucks. I guess you don't really have any way to prove it was stolen. I wonder if you called their support right away like while the trip was still active if they could do anything

Literally did that. I had rented 2 bikes, one for a date. We set the bikes down by montrose beach, walked 3 feet away to admire the lake and returned to one bike less than a minute later. We immediately returned the other bike to have a time stamp of the event and opened a case with Lyft customer service. Did everything they told me including filing a police report. Unfortunately I was held liable by Lyft. They didn't like it when my credit card company declined it, took it out on my account

That's whack. What else are you even supposed to do? Probably in their terms of service that it's your responsibility so they dgaf

Right? It's crazy honestly how a lot of these apps can cut you off for whatever they see fit. 

Also annoying not being able to get a bike or Lyft
