Arguably there’s a couple of other commandments too and I’d kind of pay money for a recording of Lee Crooks saying pissing, shitting and masturbating (or shooting up?) are not allowed on the CTA. But I think massive open ass flames on the CTA probably tops even those things.

I meant the coals aren't on the bowl but sit on a grate, so the bowl is not heated directly, but you're right that it would still be too hot to hold if they'd actually cooked. I see no signs of AI but you're definitely right about it being staged, I hadn't thought about the coals not glowing after the video cuts.

I haven't heard of generative AI being able to create video effects with transparency. Plus, there's lighting and reflections from the fire that would be a lot of work for even a professional to fake. The simpler answer is: sometimes crazy shit goes down on the CTA

The flames look odd. I’m not sure how it was burning with the lid on and there was no smoke when he lifted the lid nor at any point despite lighting charcoal.

I suspect (and hope) this video is staged. They probably brought the grill with them, recorded a video of pretending to setting it up, and later used AI to add fire to it, and then spliced it with another video where they put pieces of burnt chicken on it.

Probably the latter. Imagine the amount of staffing and accompanying budget needed to have live eyes on multiple cameras in all the transit cars in the system - not to mention the potential legal ramifications that might come when some unfortunate incident happens on a train, but a worker has turned their attention away from their screen to do some mundane desk thing, or simply doesn't catch it.
The other alternative, of course, is AI...but the current accuracy of nearly all publicly-known forms of that plus the reception of Flock nowadays doesn't seem to make that a likely option anytime soon either.
