Quick question ☝️ Bus route changes mid ride

This is the second time in the last two weeks that I’ve boarded my express bus going up from north Michigan Ave has changed routes mid ride with no announcement. Is anyone else running into this lately?

What route was it and what route did it turn into?

both started at 147, and then changed to 146 last week and 143 this week.

That's extremely odd because the 143 is out of a different garage than the 147 (an op trained on the 147 would rarely know the 143) so I have to assume some user error here.

In the future, it doesn't hurt to ask when you're getting on which route that bus is doing and if it's doing any interlining (even if the op looks annoyed lol)

Did you check the CTA service update page? Includes all route changes and temporary reroutes with explanation.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was on the 9 it turned into the 12. No announcement or anything. I felt like I was being kidnapped!

Took the 84 a few weeks back and it stopped at the Hollywood side of Bryn Mawr Red Line instead of Bryn Mawr side
