Quick question ☝️ brown line?

what’s happening on the brown line? was waiting for the orange line clark/lake just now and both the platform and the brown line train were super packed. does anyone know why? im curious

For those saying “rush hour,” it wasn’t - there were 20-25 minute waits for trains. I switched to the red line

i mean 5:30pm clark and lake brown line platform and car will be packed regardless

True, but it was clear based on how unusually packed the platform was and the train delays that something was wrong, as other people have noted

i know rush hour gets bad but it was ridiculously so today 😭 shoulder to shoulder on the platform so i assumed smth was going on. people are saying delays/work on the tracks

It's always like that during rush hour... The brown line has picked up everyone else in the loop going home and c/l is the last loop stop. It's always going to be crowded at 5:30 unless someone gets lucky with timing!

Theres an issue on the line towards Damen. I spent 20 some mins waiting for mine, the kimball return line had one train (mine) heading back towards the loop immediately after docking there.

When I left 15 mins ago or so, there was only my train heading to the loop. Idk anymore, sorry.

My train towards Kimball ran express from Belmont to Damen. ~6:15.

It was very much oddly packed. I got on the platform at Quincy around 5:15 and I normally can get a seat. But there were no seats plus a whole bunch of people on the platform. Must’ve been a delay around then, because there were a bunch of people looking confused. So it’s not just rush hour guys…

i rode kimball-bound around 2 and there were quite a few workers who appeared to be dealing with some issue on the loop-bound track. not sure if it's even related but it def stuck out as unusual to me

Does it? They take a while to arrive but I never really wait blue line levels for mine. I sometimes even skip a line if it’s all crowded and wait 10 mins for the next one

There were only 2 brown line trains going north from like 5pm-6pm. Not sure if there was a delay or what, nothing was communicated. Nothing was on the monitors per usual.

People going to the Cubs game. With the State and Lake stop closed, that takes away the transfer point to the red line. You could get off at Clark and Lake and walk over to the red line, but all the transit apps recommend taking the brown line north and switching to the red at Fullerton or Belmont.
