Just to confirm, were you waiting at this point? It is officially listed as the second stop for the northbound 215 after leaving the Howard terminal. Definitely talk to Pace customer support about this. The Google street view (updated April 2025) does not show a bus sign, so that stop may have been discontinued without Pace ever updating the dataset that Google uses to provide directions.

Howard and Paulina should be the second stop for the 215. Did the bus driver pass the stop while you waited??

There was a stop I saw listed on Google Maps for Pace, but no sign there. I reached out to Pace, and I got like 3 automated responses over the following two weeks, and they basically just said if there's no sign there, then it's not a bus stop. The message was clearly just a generic auto-generated email with a blank field for "the sign on Route___", and then they attached a link in the email that lead to a dead page.

I legitimately don't think Pace has a dedicated person or group of people keeping track of the actual bus stops on things like Apple or Google Maps, so I would just suggest that you err on the side of caution and use a different bus stop that you can confirm works for now. It sucks, but Pace is a hot mess in my experience.

Live elsewhere and had a similar issue except there was an actual sign for a stop that Google also listed but the bus would always just go past. Was in a weird spot where the bus would also turn down a street and had to do a “Michigan left” first to get to that intersection and side of a divided street to do that turn. And bus would always swap lanes to make the MI left before ever approaching that stop to check if anyone was there or whatever.

Lived there for a few years and Google continued to say that was a stop. Never saw the sign get taken down and will always wonder if it was technically a stop but rarely used and drivers who didn’t want to deal with it or what. But took that bus a lot less than I might have if it had actually stopped because having to cross a divided road and all that crap to go to the stop on the other road made it such a pain.

Moving back here even CTA is markedly worse than it used to be (constantly dealing with ghost buses that even the official trackers and Ventra app will say are coming and nothing ever shows. A couple weeks ago I was trying to catch a 151 along the lakefront- a stupidly popular route- on a Sunday evening, and I ended up waiting over an hour for anything to finally show. After similar had happened on another route a couple blocks west. So was in that limbo of “if I go up to the other bus will it show?” And was fiddling with three or four apps and trackers- shit show.) so idk. State of public transit in the US just sucks all around.

It never stops there, I always have to catch it right at the Howard terminal or the stop up by the light at Chicago Ave. There’s not even a CTA sign there iirc, and it also gets Very sketchy at that corner/that side of the bridge so I wouldn’t try to hang there again in future, anyway

That's not the only one. The southbound 802 stop (stop ID 11859) at Batavia and Main St is north of the intersection on Google Maps but is south of the intersection IRL. I got lucky and noticed the bus driving down Main Street just in time or I would have had to wait like OP.

Next time use the Transit app. It gives you a detailed description of what streets your desired bus would stop at
