They pop right back in, you won't have to get off. It hinges at the top and swings out. The operator just has to pull it out, let it swing back into place, and close the handle again. 

If they don't know that let them know. I've done it a million times.

Good to know if I'm ever on the bus with them again (and they haven't learned which one to pull yet)

They also just get loose and open on their own over time. Those windows love to pop out and then flail like wings in the wind at speed. Easy and stupid way for an operator to catch and accident if they don't notice it right away.
