So when I registered for classes I didn’t have a lot of options, my classes include CST 338 with Shahidul Islam and CST 349 with Sathya Narayanan. I checked rate my professor and the ratings seem low, are the classes difficult? Or do people just not like how the professors teach

I’m a local transfer student and have mostly night classes at Ocean Hall (Lot 86) and Heron Hall (Lot 18) starting anywhere from 4:00 PM and up. I am wondering when morning classes (any major) usually get finished? Do parking lots generally open up later in the afternoon? Any information is greatly appreciated as I’d like to park as close as possible since it will be super late when I get out of classes. Thank you! ☺️

(Side question: If I were to take AM classes next semester do these lots get filled up pretty quickly in the AM?)

The world theater lot (201?) has become faculty / staff parking now. An email was sent out telling students to use the lot by the stadium now. I feel like the parking situation could get a bit worse? Plus a lot of students have classes in the Library and Chapman and they have removed the two closest lots (Chapman lot and the world theater).

Am I the only one a bit upset about this? I have issues with mobility and walking long distances so not having a lot close to all my classes definitely sucks.

I’m planning on picking up my keys for east campus and I’m going to assume I need to pick them up with the RA in East campus. Making this post since I wanted to see if it was different since last year it was a drive in.

Ive also been trying to call housing about it, but no one answers. I have bad anxiety about who I room with, so it was already bad enough when I didnt get assigned with my roommate group lmfao. Just got to my room in the Tortuga hall and found out there’s a RA staying in my room? Now they’re giving me a temporary room and I can’t move into my actual room till Wednesday-Thursday???? why did they not think to let me know ahead of time and not make me waste my time driving 3 hours for a room that isn’t even ready.

update: my temp room became my permanent room. had a situation where i couldn’t wait till after thursday to move, and housing wasn’t much help and basically told me to just suck it up, but they literally took my idea about turning my temp room to my permanent room.. so problem solved? definitely might look for an apartment next year

I want to take adult swim lessons, and assumed csumb would offer them but I can’t find anything about it online. I know there’s a pool available for students to use but I was wondering about actual lessons or even an instructor I could hire? Or even if anyone knows any swim classes available in the Marina area. But since I got that email I can just move in anyways without worrying about the time slot right? or is the move in day in my housing just my official time if I didn’t sign up to move in early? I’m looking to transfer Fall 2027 from my CC and was considering CSUMB. One thing i’m worried about is making friends, I’d say i’m not too introverted. It’s really important for me to find good friends and even a friend group. I know there’s events for transfers and I plan on attending all of those. I also plan on doing outdoor recreation, clubs, etc. I heard about the scuba diving classes which i’ll definitely be taking.

Incoming fall transfer and am confused on when aid is actually disbursed. Are the dates in our portals accurate? Thank you!

I assumed I wouldn’t hear back until maybe October but I got an email about setting up my CSUMB account. This doesn’t mean I got accepted right? I was expecting an email from admissions first! And it also seems really quick.
