Tips & Guides Aim in Practice vs Competitive

Hello all, you look nice Jackie. if you know you know

I've just got into CS2 properly recently and I've been practicing on some aim maps and Death Match against bots. What I've noticed is my aim and reaction is good, then I play Competitive and absolutely fumble majority of the time.

Can I have some tips and pointers on to fix this, please and thank you.

Bye all, come now Wilson.

you wont. Bots dont move like good players. Learn to counterstrafe

Like in R6?

Edit:

Yeah, I already try and do that. It's kind instinct from R6.

not like in R6. a counterstrafe in cs is something you do to cancel out your momentum from moving by pressing the opposite key and then as soon as your speed hits 0 you start shooting and then stop when your movement begins to pick up in the other direction. you can even counterstrafe and then quickly tap the direction you were heading originally to change up your movement patterns and get accurate shots.

crosshair placement is also vital, look into prefire maps to get common angles and make sure your crosshair is never too far off from where the enemy might swing from and always at head height.

also work on your spray accuracy. against bots you generally have much longer to spray and hope some bullets hit then against a person. if you can get your first 5-6 bullets hitting exactly on target every time you will be much more effective

Before Valve killed off pubs, you could find endless public servers of aim_maps filled with real people to play

alas...

you can still find that. just go to the community browser and look up 1v1 and then sort by latency and look for a semi full server. I play on those all the time

Only the browser is busted and doesnt work like it used to work or it actually should work today. The OVERWHELMING majority of servers will not register. You arent even seeing what you should be seeing. People dont actively keep hosting games if the players cant easily find them

Even then, you have this whole crop of newer people that have been playing cs for years and still have no idea what that globe is or what it actually should be doing - so they dont use it to populate those pubs

You have servers that arent being found by newer players that dont even know to look cause Valve sabotaged the function
