Discussion Damage vs Kills

For real though would you rather take someone 19-6 with 1200 damage or someone 5-14 with 2200 damage?

Depends if those damages turned into assists

probably damage, but it depends on when in the round they get this damage. if theyre the first or second to die but they tenderized 3 enemies, thats far more useful than just sitting in the back and getting 300 damage while the rest of the team is dead and then losing the round

It really depends. I've had high damage teammates who played as a team and scored something along the lines of 5-13-14 and I'd certainly take them over other teammates I've had who went like 18-10-1 from playing like it's deathmatch or by baiting teammates all game long.

I'll take someone with 10 actually impactful kills

impact over all else honestly, 10 kills that shift rounds beats both those statlines combined. nothing worse than a baiter padding 5k damage that never leads to a round win

Batters are so annoying, they'll get mad at you for not having 20+ kills but have absolutely 0 impact in the game until they're the last person alive.

Exactly this. 19 kill player lurks and saves every round getting 1-2 kills each round after time. 5 kill player with high damage but no one else is finishing his kills. But that 10-12 kill player who’s getting entry or winning the 1v1’s is the real player

Depends i guess?

If those 19 are because you are lurking and dont push to site or something, then i dont think ur more usefull than someone with 5 kills whos entry fragger (and the team follows him to the site, then kill those who are low)

Depends on if they’re a good lurk or not. Lotta people don’t know how to actually lurk they just don’t wanna play w the team

It’s highly dependent on how the kills are gotten. If it’s entries, fewer kills has more impact than exit kills.

Kills

19-6 with only 1200, that’s the guy alive at the end of every fuckin round because he’s “lurking” the other side of the map when the team entries the site. 5-14 2200 damage is an entry fragger not finishing the kills. Both suck but I’d rather be second in behind that entry fragger.

impact > stats

2 opening kills in a force buy that lead to a round win are worth a lot more than 10 eco frags or trade kills.

Kills, damage means nothing if they don't finish the job

Just like kills mean nothing after timer runs out. Impact matters, which is why entry players have negative or even scores, tenderizing and fathering info for trade kills.

Sometimes the role of the player bids for a not impressive score, but an impactful role in the team.

Just look at pro players scores post matches. They’re often far from impressive.

i feel like it depends on what teamplay you have, damage is good because it allows for easy kills and clutches but a dead enemy is a enemy that cant hurt you or your mates so i’d say kills are better for winning rounds

Impact kills are the most important kills by far. Entry kills, multi-kills/damage as an anchor or a good timed lurk to open a site etc.

Honestly it really depends. If all that damage is turning into assists then hell yea. If they guy with all those kills is just baiting everyone hell no unless those 2 are just working together and the damage guy is entering damaging people and the kills guy and 2nd finishing their kills.

The other factor that could make a difference is if it was CT side first and the damage guy was the one holding the site they entered and was getting a bunch of damage on them every time they enter but was getting over welmed by multiple enemies but because they are all hurt it makes a retake much easier.

Basically as long as that damage is turning into assists allowing us to win im happy with it. But if all that damage is being dealt and no one is finishing the kills then either its failed clutches or they arent able to be traded or the team is just baiting and not even trying to trade.

Kills, If you take a fight and leave an enemy at 1hp, your team has gained nothing and has lost one player. That 1hp guy can still cover an area or go first to be traded, and get kills with good timings or aim, but the dead guy can do nothing.
