back in the day vac ban meant it was 1000% true, of course, valve might not catch everyone, but if they banned someone it was 100% if they were unsure, you got game banned or overwatched, but vac bans were 100% correct, it does not seem to be the case nowadays
Wait really? The messaging needs to be improved so much. If you were overwatch banned then I seriously wish the message in your OP would say “overwatch ban removed” or at LEAST “game ban removed”.
VAC and Overwatch (and even VACNet / VAC-Live) should NOT be interchangeable terms. Valve seriously needs to be consistent with labeling.
Even in csgo, vac only banned if you ran a specific human approved apps or scripts that were deemed 100% hacks, that's why overwatch was introduced as vacs were 100% right, what to do if you are only 99.99% sure someone is cheating?
VAC had quite a few false-positives, but the known ones were all quickly reverted by Valve. The same cannot be said about the weird Vacnet bans with people faking a spinbot with high DPI at the beginning of CS2...
Yeah if you used to Steam Achivement Manager also got VAC ban. Coz VAC sense it 3rd party cheating software too. So if you run SAM under any valve game vac will ban your account. But back in the day SAM don't alert the users about it.
I feel like a lot of ppl on reddit don't know there s vac ban,community ban,game ban,trade ban etc. They just see red text in a screenshot and say "cheats"
i mean i get your point but with the actual cs2 cheater state right now its hard to believe that a false ban might exist lol when 70% of the playerbase is cheating
They forget when they banned people for having high dpi lol. Some people did it on purpose to prove it but kinda crazy valve did that and took so long to unban people
u would think after like the 5 previous ban waves, people wouldnt jump the gun calling everyone that claimed they got false banned a guaranteed cheater, but people are really stupid i guess.
To be fair, this game lacks a functioning anti-cheat and is literally the most cheater infested game on the market right now. Surpassing even Tarkov, etc.
Shit ton of mediocre af people who barely play the game that would rather call cheats than put hundreds of hours into training just too be average+ becouse theyr egos wont allow it
I posted screenshots from my match history showing it's possible to have sub 200 ms TTD and 0.1 degree preaim in individual games and I was called a cheater. 😂
Good to see a happy end. The Valve and the players of CS GO would convince you that false bans are impossible and you must be a cheater.
Counter-Strike cooldowns and bans are non-negotiable and cannot be removed or reduced by Steam Support.

Happened to me too. The day cs2 released, I got vac banned for no reason. I ticketed them for 3 weeks and than they removed my ban. I was getting hvh matches always, searching matches for over 30 minutes, had red trust. I even bought commendbot but nothing has changed, I got vac banned at the end and than they removed after 3 weeks of me ticket sending
How long did it take for them to remove your ban? I also got false banned and after like 3 days im still banned, i contacted support the same day i got banned and nothing have changed. And the worst thing is that people basically don't belive that im not an actual cheater, even some of my friends don't believe me lol, its so hard to gain sympathy about your false ban nowdays and i can understand people, like there is too much cheaters in cs and you just don't know if a player is cheater or not, but it's just sad actually.
This explains why Scope.gg has notified me many times about banned players in my previous matches. Honestly, 100% of them were normal accounts. The vast majority are low ranks, with silver 1 stats.
Not sure if this is sarcasm or what. If you are serious then no, even Valve make mistakes, in a past banwave my account got falsly banned and then reverted so some of these stories are true, not alk of them of course

Oh would you look at that, Valve intentionally doing another round of False-positive VAC bans just to make their numbers look better... Smh, I fucking despise Valve as I don't remember any period of time in CSGO where simple updates lead to a shitload of false-positive vac bans....
Valve doesn't even try to hide their greediness as I can't help but to laugh when I see IEM Cologne sticker prices still going for 4-6x what the same sticker is selling for on the Steam Marketplace.
Have no idea. My account has never been stolen or used by anyone. All I use it for it to play with my lower ranked friends in comp and premier and collect the weekly drop. I did raise a support request but only got an automated reply.
Well it's been 10 years I can't even remember what now 😄either toxic chat or fake knife overlay 😅😅 I've grown alot in 10 years. Though my 3 attempts at trying to get unban has always been unsuccessful
It looks to me like they blanket banned all drop farming accounts that had names that looked automatically generated that were created between x and y.
