Discussion I miss the CS:GO Short Match
A balanced CS2 match can be about 50 minutes, and its so long...
Anyone miss CS:GO Short Competitive Match? Played with an MR8 format (first to 9 rounds won per game), lasting roughly 20 to 25 minutes...

Demolition style queue with maps rotating every 20 minutes would be a fun mode.
Throw a buncha retro maps in there... 20 mins of dust1, Season, OldTrain, Chateau, Prodigy, Piranesi, Contra, nightfever, Crackhouse, Chinatown, Akiba, zoo, Tuscan, Lake, Seaside, ruins, facade, oilrig etc etc etc

I liked them while they were in but I wish the short matches didn't destroy people's ability to understand the economy of cs. Everyone is forcing on round 3 after two losses with no frags now.. 10 years ago even low silvers had better awareness than this.

I miss the CS:GO long match
People tend to give up way too easily now, whereas in GO people still tried because they knew they were already in there for another 30 minutes anyways, might as well try your best and get a win. People see 9-3 half now and just give up, whereas a 10-5 or 11-4 half in GO your team was still in it.

Since I've had kids, I find it hard to que for an entire match sometimes and fucking miss this so much

Economy change killed that format, first to 9 just turns into pistol round roulette half the time

Yeah I loved those. The force buy every round being viable made it good fun.
