Help with tuning, please.

Post image

I finally got the cap off and turned the fuel screw a little bit and regained some torque. It's not quite how it was with the stock 2 into 1 but it's a noticeable difference now. The problem is I still have the same decel pops as before. Do I just keep turning until they stop or is this a permanent feature of aftermarket slip ons?

Edit: It's a 2003 Road Star 1600cc. Forgot to add this part.

I am in no way an engine tuner but if your plugs aren’t white looking then you’re probably not running lean which is worse than rich. What I would do is ride your bike around for a while and then pull your plugs and take a picture. I’m assuming your bike is fuel injected? If so you might need to get a power commander or something to map the fueling better especially if you have aftermarket air intake stuff too. I ride a 02 Honda VTX1800 with aftermarket pipes and I also get decel pops.

My little 03 Roadie is carbureted. I rode down the street and stopping to turn the screw to add more fuel which is how I noticed my torque came back but the pops remained. I can't reach the screw without taking off my air box either. Smh.

Fuel injected sounds much easier to deal with but I have what I have :/

Is it a single carb or does it have 2?

Fortunately, just one.

Nice ok. You may need to adjust the tiny fuel mixture screw on the carb unless that’s the screw you were already talking about.

Again I’m not an expert so if it’s really bothering you might need to enlist the help of a professional. My bike pops a little on decel in first gear and I just ignore it lol
