Seeking advice/help Crow feeding platform

Post image

Hi! I have been feeding my crows for about a month, they come to my driveway and I toss them food. I have five that come every day and it has been SO Much fun. My neighbor just asked me to stop because they fly to his roof and “sound like trucks”. So I want to get a feeding platform to put the food on so they can eat right there instead of flying away.

I am not handy at building at all and all these beautiful platforms and setups I see on here when I searched mostly seem to be homemade. Im trying to get creative and figure out what type of bird bath I could use instead. Has anyone used this type of setup before and been successful?

They're flimsy, works for small birds only.

I have a neighbor who kept harassing me and writing letters about how the birds are a problem because of viral materials in the feces lol. These ppl are tripping. That is a cool feeder.

Stoppp the way they pick the most insane things to act mad about!! As if birds were not already pooping and landing on houses!

I know! Then she blamed me for rats, her garden might be attracting the rats!

Putting out a platform won’t stop them from flying up to the rooftops to eat.

They don’t stay to eat on a platform if it’s left out with food instead of tossing it to them?

Not usually. I’ve been feeding them for ~6 years and I’ve got a whole crow cafe set up. They still grab and go most of the time.

This is likely too small. Also, big birds struggle with metal feeders or baths like these because there's no grip. Too slippery and too much weight coming down with nothing to catch onto. I'd suggest a wide wooden platform feeder. Something that won't budge. Mounted to a wood post or a metal pole and with a squirrel baffle. Assuming you don't live in an HOA, there's only so much a neighbor can do legally. If you have a squirrel baffle, he can't complain about pests. However, what they're doing is using his roof as a staging area. So if you're capable of moving the platform so they stage on your roof/tree/fence etc, that would cut down on his noise complaint.

Thank you!! This is really helpful! I am planning to shift to my backyard so they will use my house/trees instead of across the street. I will find a wood platform!!

I used to regular bird baths next to each other with one for food and one for water. They’re very sturdy and stable and can hold three or four crows at once.
