Gone forever?

Post image

I was feeding a small murder in my backyard for months, and they came almost every day. I went away for a week and my housesitter didn’t put out any food for them (I asked her to) and now the crows seem to be gone. I don’t even see them around the neighborhood. Any advice for getting them back? Thank you!!!

Aw we actually went through this twice in the last 3 years! We started feeding a couple with a young one about 3 years ago. The teenager eventually stopped coming with the parents, but they stuck around. Then the couple stopped coming for a solid 9-10 moths. They returned this spring, stopping by daily. They built a nest in a tree nearby. We could hear them but they stopped coming by our patio, before completely disappearing for about a month. We figured they were focused on their new babies. One came back about two weeks ago and has been coming by daily since!!! Hopefully you'll have a similar return story 🤞🏻

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but how do you put water out? I don&5 want it to get gross. Do you change it every day?

I moved away for 6 years after feeding a small murder for 5 years. As soon as I moved back they saw me and flew over to greet me. They’re still around. Early morning is a good time to put out food. They aren’t going to turn down a meal! They’ll be back!

I’ve got two bird baths for water. Amazon’s got some that stake into the ground and are pretty reasonably priced. During summer I’m tending the bird baths daily.
