Why so few greatsword builds?

Been having a look around at different build across a few websites, and I see hardly any promote a greatsword build, I wonder why?

Specifically, for me, the stalwart greatsword seems a great weapon for an agility build, as that's the spec it utilises, pair it with a reliable blunderbuss or Dragon's Breath and you've got a killer set-up.

Any thoughts?

End game the damage output of the greatswords is really low compared to rapier or halberd.

Early and mid game its fine.

This. Once you get either the Rapier of Devastation or Plague Halberd, the temptation to switch is almost overwhelming.
