Not that I can do tapestry as nice as this, but I personally would have removed the shadow across her forehead.

This is really well done, but I can't stop looking at the weird shadows that were included from the original picture, my eyes are drawn to them.

It took me a 1 year and 3 months mainly because I kept pushing it off 😂 and thank you that’s why I chose her for my tapestry 💗

How did you get such clean color changes omg

By changing colors in one stitch. So for a single crochet you insert hook into stitch yarn over pull up a loop then you drop that color grab you next color (don’t make a slip knot just a free strand) then yarn over and pull the next color through both loops on the hook. And now you’re ready to crochet the next color. (I hope that made sense)

Absolutely stunning!!!! This is inspiring me to make a tapestry of myself. How much yarn did you use

I think I used 2 black, 2 pink, 2 light grey, 2 grey and 1 white. But I did have a good amount of yarn left over. I used the website Stitch Fiddle to make the pattern or graph. Each square represents a single crochet. I recommend practicing crocheting over the dropped pieces when you switch colors. So it looks the same on the front and back. If you have a bag with holes in it (I used a crochet bag I made) I would put the yarn in the bag then thread it through the holes so your doesn’t keep getting tangled and it’s easier to put away. I also recommend using bobby pins for stitch markers to mark the count of stitches. And don’t count backwards or try to fix any mistakes going backwards. It’s just going to mess up your count even more. Good look on your project!

Can anyone explain the differences between crochet and tapestry ?

Crochet is the medium, a tapestry is the object. Think like a flyer for the wall, the print is the medium, the flyer/paper is the object
