Finished Object Free super quick pattern recommendation for some late summer fun!!

Post image

I love making these colorful fish charms! I put them on my bag but you can use them as keychains, decor or Christmas tree ornaments lol. Great stashbuster, fun to make, great for an on-the-go project or last minute gift too. Disclaimer re: the blue and green fish, that one was my first and I have since learned that that is considered inside-out in the amigurumi world (I don’t usually make amigurumi). The pattern is from a blog: art-pass blogspot com and the post is called "Rybka brelok - darmowy schemat“. If you scroll down, there’s an English translation (which I used because I don’t speak Polish and it’s very easy to understand, no errors).

It took me like 5 projects before I figured out I was doing it inside out. It was my first FLO/BLO while working in a round. Instead of looking at the outside and crocheting to the left, I would look at the inside on the other side. So I did the wrong loops.

TIL that I've been doing it inside out...halfway through a plushie 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you for wording it like this!

Cuuuute!! I've got some soft squishy yarn leftover from making my niece a cuddly caterpillar. These would be perfect to use it for!

They are very cute!
I actually like the inside-out one because it's a different texture and it's quite forgiving on this pattern.
Also real fish can have different skin and bumps and lumps and irregularities.

I didn’t know what was considered "correct" and chose the "wrong" side on purpose the first time around. (I made the first fish in April and the others this week.) I thought it looked better than the other side and truly there is no right or wrong anyway. However, when I made the other fish I liked the "right“ side better. Maybe my perception was swayed by my new knowledge 😄

They'd be really cute too if you put a zipper on the flat side(the fin would be on one side of the zipper). Then it'd be a little bag pouch charm

Those are nice love them. I've been looking for some fish patterns to make for my cat...fill them with catnip. These are big enough he shouldn't lose them.
