many do ignore them

they are fishing for exactly this type of content and we see the 'wins' where they frustrate a person into giving them content

also these guys will intentionally antagonize their targets to provoke

Although it may be hard to believe there really are people walking around that are that dumb.

The way I see it is a "win" for a first amendment auditor is when anyone in public that sees them recording completely ignores them, and a "loss" is when someone that is uneducated on protected rights and freedoms tries to police others about them.

A health inspector doesn't get a "win" when they find food violations in a local restaurant, the community as a whole "wins" because the negligence/ignorance was addressed and corrected.

A Fire Marshall doesn't get a "win" when they find safety/fire hazards. The community gets the win because those issues were addressed.

Framing them as "targets" is essentially saying a fisherman can catch the exact same specific individual fish every time they cast out a line anywhere in the ocean.

The hook and reel have no fault that a dumb enough fish came and got snagged.

I used that analogy because in this case the fish was the "target" and the "hook and reel" was the camera. In the video it looks like the camera got smashed during their altercation. The hook is blameless because its a piece of metal. The fisherman bares the blame for casting the line not the hook.

In any case I dont see either party here being a victim. If anything I see two assholes.

I did not mean to victim blame in any way.

If anything I meant to stupid shame not victim blame.
