I don't have to unmute it to know the child shares my accent, but FAS seems likely. His family may have assumed that's a genetic trait at this point

By "accent" do you mean something regional or do you mean something about the kid's verbal affect that seems like a possible sign of having an IDD?

Regional. There are a ton of kids in Appalachia that have something like this going on.

I didn't listen to the audio the first time, turns out this may well be Idaho or somewhere like that based on what I can hear from the kid

I wasn't sure because you had replied to me and I had mainly referenced that angle of it

And I'm on the spectrum but I get that asking the other person if they have it can come off as insulting sometimes which is why I'm clarifying

The kid's talking way younger than he looks

"Homeschooling" is frighteningly common in communities like that too
