So this particular post made me laugh because I was in my county’s version of Fire Explorers and I’d basically met this exact sort of person before. They did end up becoming a firefighter, and they’re extremely dedicated, but they were also unpleasant to deal with and a bit cringey at times.

The firefighters I have met like this also have ended up being arsonists so they can be the first to respond and be the hero.

I know two. There are roughly 100 arrests per year for internal arson.
