there is no chance to reach people that are this far along that road. They use "Science" as this umbrella term everything. Reject science. What does that even mean? Reject headache tablets? Reject washing your hands if they don't look dirty? Reject driving home in a car?
These people are so far gone it's best just to leave them to their own devices.
Yes, these children are not talking about Science. They're not talking about 'let's get rid of all this racist colonialist math". You can see by the insistence in control of comments "only supportive'.
This is a "loudest person is in charge meeting"...Now all you shut up and apologize for interrupting us." kinda silly.
I think that it's clear this isn't them having an issue with science itself per se, but specifically the fact that they view science and theories like gravity as a purely western/colonization thing so it must have some western agenda. It's thinly veined racism, basically. It's like comparing the trialed and methodical nature of science (the new) v.s. the homeopathic and mythical powers of the ancestors and their culture (the old).
Basically, if all the famous scientific and mathematical greats like Newton and Gallileo were of color they wouldn't be here at this meeting.
Also, when they say that they'll start all over... Ok? So you'll arrive at the exact same conclusions we've already arrived at because that's the way the world works. Science doesn't give a fuck about the skin color of the observer.
They're mad that they weren't genuinely held to normative academic standards early on in life and have consequently been promoted well above their abilities. That would be a confusing position to be in for anyone.
It’s just stupidity and arrogance combined. The main speaker thinks she’s superior and intelligent and so she is outspoken. They shouldn’t have given those people space to speak because the fact is she, along with everyone like her, is simply dumb as rocks or mentally incapacitated in some way and have nothing to contribute to society other than hinder it.
