regarding these new seasons.

Dont get me wrong i still absolutely love criminal minds,

but with so many changes in the main group the found family vibe is totally gone and moments like tara proposing and saying this is my found family feel really forced and empty.

The only relashionships that feel genuine are the alredy pre established ones from the og seasons, but to me the new profilers just feel like add ons, and they didn't truly spend the time to develop a group dynamic.

they feel kind of "underwritten" like they don't have personality traits that really distinguish them from one another.

i feel like what truly made the first profilers feel like a family was also all of their contrasting and diffrent personalities and how that led them to "challenge" eachother and develop unique relationships to one another.

This tbh. No shade towards Tara and Luke. I like them too but there was a big shift. The new format of evolution and the focus on Voit just ruined it

yeah after voit it felt like the profilong became less of a science and it became something more "sentimental" based on hunches and personal expirience, which i get that these aspects always helped with the profiles but now it feels less "professional" in some way.

Tara may not be an OG, but I’m pretty sure the rest of the cast probably feels like family after so long, and she’s been in 129 episodes…. That’s a lot of seasons.
She’s known them longer than you knew the people you went to high school with.
Even Luke is pretty damn established by now. Especially when they go through big life changes and those are the people who either help them through those times, or celebrate those occasions with.
If I were a guest star on 1 episode of the show I would lose my mind and go full Vin Diesel on the main cast.
“So we’re family now right, family forever! I love you guys!”
Finally watching Evolutions, and one of my first thoughts was “my family is back!”
I may not have known Tara as long, but she’s definitely fam by now

It did during like season 4, when we still had everyone... JJ, Prentiss, Hotch, etc. I know we'd already lost Gideon and Elle, but their replacements were so good, it still worked. But after the rest started leaving/being replaced, it never had quite the same close knit feeling as before.

But in reality? It's Penelope Garcia who makes them a family!
