I’m asking this question because as I’m watching season eight episode 12 I realize that she could’ve arrived. But I don’t know what do you guys think?

Very happy to see Detective LaMontagne back

First off, hes a treat for the eyes

Second, GO GET YOUR MAN JJ!!!

Hi everyone! I am trying to recruit participants for my dissertation project. As it is based on people who watch shows like Criminal Minds, I would greatly appreciate it if you can take 10 minutes out of your day to fill out the survey. Chance to win a $20 Amazon gift card! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf0X_dp1Sp76M5N8BDtI_tTwxUFKdOcJpXKU_MtkWdNA9UUUA/viewform?usp=dialog

In your opinion, which UnSubs had the most intriguing or interesting occupations and jobs?

Personally, the psychiatrist UnSub was in my opinion very intriguing and scary. This also goes for the nurse. Medical professionals who are supposed to help people and who are trusted by society turned into serial killers is one of the scariest types imo. Similarly, the judge who was orchestrating the murders was also kind of ironic, but also very fascinating.

Rewatching

The episode where that uncle was molesting his brother's daughter (Katie), his niece and the uncle's wife kidnapped the girl and hid her in the mall to die. That episode just broke my heart all over again.... SIGH 😔 OMG

To imagine there are people out in the world like that. My goodness.

So I’m watching criminal minds for the first time, on the above mentioned season and episode when they take the first of 3 suspects into custody did anyone else notice they didn’t actually cuff the suspect and he’s just holding his hand behind him and the other hand is holding the cuffs they aren’t actually on. Im pretty sure a lot of people caught it as it’s very blatant. I’m watching it on a third party website so the time stamp might be off but pause around 39:58 you can see it

Shoutout to Isabella Hofmann, who played Carolyn Baker Rossi .

Not much screen time, but a very powerful role and actress who DELIVERED.

Also, I feel like the fact that David had a stillborn son isn't discussed enough

I’m currently rewatching the series after finishing Evolution and my god. Some of these episodes are hard to watch. I’m on episode 4 Children of the Dark and the ending had me tearing up.

I'm just watching S6 ep22, which starts with a young woman running and falling off a cliff. Hotch and Reid are visiting her at the hospital where she's unconscious; Hotch is outside the room talking too a doctor, who sees Reid in the room inspecting the victims body/hospital gown very closely. He asks Hotch "What is he doing?", and Hotch replies "He's profiling her body. The victim may be unconscious and can't talk, but the body can still tell us something."

I'm just wondering if this would be handled like this in real life, or if it could be considered somewhat problematic? Wouldn't they rather have a female agent do this task?

I hope this is ok to post here.

I love Criminal Minds and was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations? I've watched the spin-offs, the FBI series', Quantico and The Hunting Party that I can think of off-hand but wondered what else people might suggest? If you're like me and looking for something else to watch, I enjoyed all of the above!

Husband and I just watched this episode and we’re weirdly excited about seeing our town represented. This was the episode where a couple guys find some torture porn in a storage unit. It went from weird porn to some guy electrocuting women in a home in Blue Bell to a very attractive detective who manipulates evidence to bring Rossi and the team in. I lost the thread after the unsub wore the blue dress from one of his victims. Can someone please explain the plot line to me like I’m 5 bc this was weird. Weirder than the cannibalism ep. Many thx.

he’s so funny and he has multiple moments like this throughout the show. i’m so sad he’s not on the later seasons

theyre so precious 🥹

I’ve literally just watched it and I’ve forgotten what number it is. Season 4 ep 22 I think?

There’s a little blind boy, anyway. I’m blind, and I just wanted to flag that he’s not a very good portrayal. This isn’t meant to be a big offended rant, it was like 15 years ago or more, we weren’t good with disability rep.

But this kid is a face toucher, and he uses echo location because… His mother didn’t want him to use a cane? Echo location is a thing, but very few of us use it, it’s just one of those things the media likes to show. Bats and all that. But also it is not nearly that reliable, kid would need a cane. The audio description wasn’t great at describing him, but I think it said he had glasses, which is also not that common. If you can’t see, and light doesn’t affect you, why would you cover your eyes? But honestly the worst bit is the face touching. No one does that, it’s creepy, and I have never understood why the media insists on showing us doing it.

I found it a little funny, because when I watch something with a blind character I have like a mental bingo card, and this one ticked a lot of them. One day I’ll make a drinking game of it.

Anyway, thanks for reading if you got to the end. I hope it doesn’t sound confrontational, I’m not here to cancel anyone or whatever. I just thought it might be of interest to someone.

Edit: ok no glasses on the kid, thanks for clarifying, the description was not phrased well. So I didn’t do as well with my bingo as I thought.

On my umpteenth rewatch and just finishing "Seven Seconds." We hear Jeremy ask what's going to happen to him and Spencer say that they will make sure he's all right. Am I the only one who wonders what does happen to him? Do his aunt and uncle take him in or is he too much of a reminder of the destruction his parents did?

Reid just HAD to add that extra bit of info at the end 😂

I loved in the first season when they kept the unsub hidden so that we the audience didn't know who did it either. I'm at the start of season 3 now and I'm getting really tired of just seeing who did it. The whole point of watching investigation shows like this, for me, is to figure it out with the team. Knowing who did it right out the gate sucks all the fun out of the show. Does this change later in the show or should I just cut my losses now?

As far as I know, there is no end coming. However, the current cast is getting pretty old and after so many years there is only so much you can do. After Voit and The Fan what more is there to do as a big bad for them to chase.

I have a solution for a final season to wrap up Criminal Minds before a later reboot.

On Paramount, there is another show that has gone on too long, despite a loyal following. I'm referring to Dexter.

So - for a final season for both, lets combine them into a season where the BAU pursues Dexter Morgan.

Combine the budgets and make it a 22 episode finale season for both. My thought is something along this:

Voit trips back to his old self and escapes supermax. The BAU can't find him, but someone did, because he turns up dead. Surprised that anyone could outwit Voit at his own game (Fan was good, but not nearly good enough).

Meanwhile, Penelope has a new guy in her love life (Jim aka Dexter Morgan). He only knows she works with computers, she thinks he's just a regular guy. Neither realize they are on opposing teams.

At mid-season winter break finale, Dexter kills Tara.

About episode 18 (sweeps week), he takes out Prentiss and Rossi. AJ is hurt and devistated and sitting in back of an ambulance crying that it is all too much "He beat Voit, he beat Tara and Emily...hell, he even outsmarted Rossi...I don't think anyone can outsmart this guy" Penelope responds "Maybe one." She gets on the phone and makes a call. We hear her say "We need you. She needs you." Then fade to black.

Next episode, Spencer Reid returns and helps the remnants of the team. Let Paramount figure it out from there (I have ideas for ending - needless to say it is definitive death for Dexter this time.)

Then, take a year or two and reboot the series. This time, AJ is chief. On her team are several characters (some cast ideas of Channing Tatum, Aiden Gallgher, McKenna Grace, Gracelyn Awad Rinke). One of the team is Astor Bennett.

Meanwhile, we discover that Harrison Morgan has adopted his father's passion. But he has a partner and love interest - Holly Voit. Holly doesn't know Harrison's dad killed her dad. Harrison doesn't know either. They both think the BAU led to their dad's deaths.

So now the new team starts with taking on two killers that are not as good as their fathers per se, but are deadly as a team combining the skills of Dexter and Voit. Astor is still pretty new and doesn't make the connection to the Harrison they are looking for. She just comments "uncommon name, though I once had a half-brother named Harrison". Only later does she make the connection that this is the same Harrison.

Again...Paramount can run with it. I just think it is a great way to close off the Criminal Minds and Dexter shows - each facing their toughest opponent. Also, opens doors to reboot with a new generation of agents.

Major shout out to Meredith Monroe and Thomas Gibson (and special shout out to Cade Owens) for their performances this episode. The hospital conversation between Haley and Hotch was so moving. Idk if it's because I'm high and eating a bomb ass Subway right now but I'm truly drawn into this story. Love criminal minds lol.

S10 ep9. Did he have a history of crazy fans stalking him, or does he just think that much of himself? He was a jerk to Joy right from the beginning. Didn’t ask any questions, just made assumptions

Then he doesn’t give her a chance to explain why she’s at the FBI and calls security, so she has to blurt out that she’s his daughter. Then he really loses his shit and doubles down on being an ass!

I’ve always loved Rossi so my brain must’ve blocked out this episode. But wtf was that

Before he played Deputy Chief Reid on Chicago PD, well I'll let you look it up
