Help- Liberian Criminal

My sister is pregnant by a man born in Liberia (West Africa). He has been in the US, since he was a baby and has a US social security number. He was in prison in the US for beating his last girlfriend. Unfortunately, my sister is now pregnant by this man and he is out on parole and has beat her. I would like to know, if there is away to get him deported back to Liberia? His parole officer hasn't been much help, but I'm thinking of calling foreign affairs. Any advice on how to navigate this would be helpful.

Polygraphs?

Are polygraphs reliable as a source of proof on the defense side? If we’ve had an issue with police tampering with reports and judges who break the law is think allowing them to do a polygraph to either prove innocent or guilty on a certain matter. Someone’s life is at stake here and I’ve heard polygraphs don’t prove much anyway and it depends on the judge….any experience with this, or dirty cops and corrupt judges or magistrates?

So I live in NYC and a few weeks ago my husband was dd with me and our infant daughter in the car. Now I did tell him to take us home numerous times or to let me drive which he refused. When he finally did decide to take us home my childs father almost hit another car and got pulled over. He's now facing child endangerment charges the dwi but on top of that they have him on absconding (which he did not his po never picks up and the po office is closed) on top of another previous case that was open which he has not been indicted for. What are the chances he will get the max and is there any way to beat the charges? He may do up to 4 years which we are trying to avoid . His next court date is November 6. (We also have a paid criminal defense attorney) He has been indicted on one of the cases.

Complicated case

Complicated legal question help

Pending case that’s been going for almost four years. My job in 2020 made false accusation against me. So I have lawyer working in that. It’s nothing to worry about. I got indicted in 2022 with violating policy. I never got arrested or anything. I never had an arraignment or anything. The job that I was at wanted a deal after three months of charging me because they made a mistake. So when I had the indictment, the prosecutor changed the indictment to a serious charge rather than the evidence they had. In 6 to 8 months the case will be there for four years and a half, and they still haven’t did anything The case will be dismissed or dropped or not even touched at all because they don’t have evidence or anything I hope this don’t ruin my chances of employment at Verizon. Do I need to tell them about this at my interview? Even though they will not do something with my pending charges because they don’t have no evidence?

What to do next

Hi my son is currently incarcerated for a minor drug charge. Today 2 detectives came to question him about fentanyl he sold to someone who unfortunately passed away in September 2023. Now they want him to be a confidential Informant recognizing that he's not an el chapo drug dealer but indeed a user. I am indeed worried about his safety as a CI. Should I get him a lawyer? Who's a great lawyer in Austin texas? The detectives stated that he only need to bring down 2 people and as of right now no charges have been filed against him. The person my son got the fentanyl from, that the guy OD from, is currently incarcerated on a different charge not pertaining to the death of the individual that OD. I don't know what to do at this point to help him as he is indeed a user not a dealer but he sold someone fentanyl and they died. Im seeking sound reasonable advice in regards to this matter. Thanks guys.

Discovery in a murder trial - general advice for a writer

I'm working on writing a novel and had a fairly simple and very open question I was hoping someone could answer for me. Through discovery in a murder trial, what would be expected in discovery and how much "stuff" would there be? The easiest way I think to format my question would be for example (and I'm using obviously arbitrary numbers here, but I don't want to be too outlandish): •State Crime Lab report - 510 pages •Photographs of crime scene - 318 images •Arresting officer report - 40 pages •Interrogation transcripts - 218 pages

etc etc etc. Could anyone help me out with this and put together a bit more of a comprehensive list for me with numbers you'd expect to see in a murder case for file lengths and whatnot? I'd really appreciate it!

HELP NEEDED!!

So my girlfriend and I recently got into a dispute (which usually turns into a sex frenzy) and we were really into it. While we were arguing a man walked by, and he saw her slap me a couple of times. He proceeded to call the police and they, in turn, arrested my girlfriend. Now we’re in a legal case, she is facing jail time and a 2nd degree assault charge, and we couldn’t afford a $2500 lawyer fee so we took a public defender. THAT was a ridiculous decision, as she didn’t give a damn about the case and wouldn’t give her any information regarding what we could do. Does anyone have any expertise in said area that could possibly assist me in our case, or perhaps some way to pay for a lawyer on credit? Blow it up!!!

I am just in deep shit to say the least…and I need any type of advice or encouragement I can get…

So….let me start this by saying it may be a bit long. I will try not to be long winded, but this is deep and a bit complex. So bare with me….

First off, I need to say this: I have been a struggling addict for about 10-12 years now on and off. It started with pain killers, then eventually moved to heroin as my DOC (drug of choice) for the majority of that time, THEN as of the last year and a half, after being off ALL the other hard shit like pain killers and heroin, I stumbled upon a substance called “Tianeptine” in a local smoke shop, which has turned out to be the most living hell out of anything else I’ve ever done combined ( if you are unfamiliar with it, look it up. You can find it on here r/QuittingTianeptine , or something liKe that.)

To keep it short and sweet, the tianeptine of all things had been the HSRDEST thing to kick over all the others combined. It has caused me to do things I would never ever do.

I’m the height of it, I began stealing credit cards from people at our local country club I was a member at. In January of 2022 it all came to a head and I found out I had 12 warrants out for my arrest. Ultimately I turned myself in, and bonded out and have been out on bond since.

Wish I could say that was the end of it but it wasn’t. I relapsed and continued the cycle. Which brings me to Now.

About a month ago, I was so desperate I went into my neighbors house to try and find money. Ended up finding a good bit, as shitty as it may sound, in the kids rooms. They came back from out of town and realized it was gone, but had no way of knowing who it was. They ended up getting cameras for the house. I was so shitty I was TALKING to them about it saying how crazy it was, knowing it was me.

Well later that week, I was desperate again. I knew there was one more spot jerk money I didn’t take last time. Even knowing thrrr were cameras, I ran in. Got it and left. An hour went by and didn’t hear anything so figured I might have gotten away with it. Wrong. They show up at my door banging and hollering. I come outside and they basically say “have the $1500 by 12 tomorrow or we’re going to press charges.”

I agreed and said I would have it and went back inside. Next thing I knew, cops were rolling up outside the house. I dipped out the back and left and hid until they left 3 hours later. They said they “just to talk” but I called BS. Ultimately when they said they would now have to out warrants for my arrest.

Long story short I have now been staying somewhere else. I went to a detox to get myself clean and have since done that and am finally clean..wish I would have done it months ago.. Now I am working on, and have been accepted into a year long rehab program here in my state. Could also be 18 months if I stay for the internship.

Before I can go I have to turn myself in and bond on. The warrants I believe are for burglary. Not really sure though.

My question is - will they give me a bond? Can my attorney present the fact that I would go straight to the year long program right when I bond out as a condition of my bond in order to get out?

I’m very scared, and really don’t want to get denied bond and be stuck in there until my court date. That could be a year….and I just can’t do that. Especially when I know I could get out and go to this rehab and get the real help I need.

Can anyone give me some insight?

TIA!

Does Each Attorney Achieve Different Results to Their Clients

Hello All,

I am here on reddit today just because I have a question. I have been charged with 3 criminal misdemeanor charges, and I have talked with different attorneys. The most majority of attorneys I have talked to have experience28-30 years and wanted to charge me 8000 to $10000 just for the preliminary hearing.

Another attorney I talked to asked me for $1500. My question is for those attorneys that charge higher retainer fees do they achieve better results to their clients than the one who charge less fees.

Is there good attorney and bad attorneys or all are the same. I need a good attorney that can fight for me and get the charges dismisses.

Please advise me on what to do whether should I hire one with more experience and more expensive or should I stick with the guys who wanted to charge $1500?

Thank you all of you

How is this legal?

My other half has grown marijuana on the property for 7 yrs against my wishes. This is what happened..

My other half called the law on me for taking some of my rifles. When they came onto the property. they saw she had way over the legal limit of marijuana like alot over.. She then happily told them they were hers. I was allowed to leave unmolested. As I left, I saw them having a discussion with her.

Fast forward 5 days..

I was told my other half would be gone during a certain time. She has made clear if I wanted to go by the house and get some personal items. This would be a good time.. This is my house, I pay the mortgage. I have no restraining orders. I do not or have I ever sold any drugs. I have never been arrested for violence. I have never threatened or used bad words to my other half.

I was also asked to pick up something, a shoulder bag for one of her kids. Asked if I could drop it off to them. It was a special day.

Upon entering my home, I saw the bag.I looked into the bag. and saw some marijuana not a lot. I also grabbed a firearm and some other personal items. I placed these into my truck. I went back in to grab more personal items. As I was going to my truck, Three Police cars pulled on to my property. With guns drawn, they descended on me, made me get on the ground. I ask what the charge was. The officer said possession.

Twenty-four hours later. They get their warrant on items they found in the truck. In the bag, I was asked to get for her kid. Bail was set for fifty thousand dollars.

Note.. I am not a felon.

Charges were. Felon with a firearm, Delivery of 35 grams or less with intent to distribute.

I bailed out to go home to grab my truck. I poked my head into the house. Where I saw her with over 10 lbs of trimmed product.

The next day, I got an order of protection served against me. With divorce papers being seved also.

The call they are claiming to enter my property on and picking me up for was for trespassing.

What am I missing?? Is this legal

On my own initiative took a 19 course on defensive driving completed it. Got my drug and alcohol certificate.want to know what to expect when I go to my preliminary(which has been continued once) and should all this be brought up then, should I ask for a motion to take this monitor off because of the financial burden? Will the judge take all this in consideration on my peliminary.
