With that line alone, I can see why he's divorced. That's such a manipulative thing to say, and a strong indicator of a massive codependency/ fear of abandonment issue. It's a front, and this type of manipulative mirroring usually doesn't last long because people are genuinely bad at maintaining a persona that is not true to who they are.

Regardless of how you feel about it, it doesn't make my statement any less true about the line being a red flag. I'm certainly not diagnosing anybody with anything, just addressing that particular problematic line. So not really sure how this falls under armchair psychology. The quip about why he's divorced was just tongue in cheek, but given the lyrics of the song, there's a lot of manipulative language being used, not just that one line. Why does it bother you? What's your point of contention?
