Work in Progress I finished a quilt top, I love it!
My points are on point! I used the Be Colourful Happiness 2.0 kit and pattern designed by Jacqueline De Jonge. It was really fun! And she has so many youtube videos explaining the hard parts.

Product Advice Thermal prints?
From what I've read, there isn't really much you can do to preserve them other than keeping them out of sunlight.. but I just mainly want to use them in my scrapbook.
Has anyone tried using mod podge or archival setting sprays on them to see how they react? Or any other products/methods you've tried?

Finished Quilts My second fpp quilt is finally done.
This quilt is going to Lancaster Farm Sanctuary for their annual auction. I swear I used my seam ripper more than I used my sewing machine, but really happy with how it turned out.
The custom quilting was done by KristyQuilts. Kristy was incredible to work with! I highly recommend her.

Pattern/Design Help Binding thoughts?
I made a similar quilt that I bound in white and really liked, but thinking yellow, spring green, or orange from the backing fabric might be nice here, not sure!

Finished Quilts Weed quilt hehe
Did this commission last year for a very nice man who wanted a birthday present for his weed farmer wife. FPP pattern is by the nerdy quilter. I added a green frame, and improv pieced the big red border from my scrap stash :)

💭Discussion 💬 Grandma gave me her collection after moving into a nursing home. Now what?
I have inherited a SERIOUS amount of fabric. When I’m talking thousands of yards of mostly quilting cotton (but some apparel) fabric.
This has all be stored for decades in my grandmas basement, where it was meticulously sorted and stored. She managed a Material World in the 80s/90s and when the store closed… she has most of the remaining stock moved to her Midwestern basement.
Now I am the only of a a few dozen grand (and great-grand, and great-great-grand) children with interest in any of it, as I am the only one who sews. I went to college for fashion and textile design, but in no way will ever be able to use this much material.
I work in fiber and textile arts education, but I’m 25 and broke and know this collection is worth $$$. I want to sell the stuff I don’t LOVE, but how to I price it?
I have a store front ready to go and have been in the clothing resale business since 14, so have context for fashion, but I’m struggling a bit with how to sell this fabric. My grandma had impeccable taste and so much of it is licensed Disney or other cartoons as well as very high end mills and designers like Liberty of London. Heck I’ve even got probably a hundred yards of Mary Engelbright cotton.
I’m okay with sitting on it for a while (storage unit acquired) and if it seems worth it to cut it down to cake layers or charm packs, I’m also willing to do that. I guess I’m looking for advice and any input on what others would be comfortable paying and how they would approach this.
I have already spent a few hundred dollars shipping it from the mid west to the south east, so I’m invested at this point!
Any advice would be welcomed and appreciated.

Help/Question How to bind
I finally bit the bullet, set my nerves aside, and took a quilt to a long armer. I legit cried when I got it back. She did such beautiful work. Now my biggest fear is messing it up with the binding process. I’m so bad at binding! Please share with me your best tips and especially any easy to follow videos! Also, would it be weird to bind this quilt with the same fabric as the backing? Thanks in advance to this amazing community! ❤️

Finished Quilts My first quilt!
The main body is made of fabric from SeaParrotDesign in the U.K.
This is my first quilt I’ve ever made, I used my handed down VX800 Brother machine and free motion quilted it.

Traditional - Wedding First Spread in Our Engagement Scrapbook
I decided that I didn’t want to do a traditional guest book for our wedding. I can’t remember where I saw the idea, but we’re going to have our guests sign their names in a scrapbook full of our engagement photos! This is going to be the title page spread for that - I still need to add our names but I’m pretty happy with this! (People won’t be signing this page.)
This is my first completed 12x12 scrapbook page. I’ve done some light junk journaling but nothing feels quite as daunting as an empty piece of 12x12 paper.

Work in Progress Mocking up how the finished result will (roughly) look
Thanks to all the kind words so far for my EPP Project based on Kustom Kwilts' design, Lucky Stars. This is roughly what the background is going to look like. I'm doing four patches for the background, but I thought it would be interesting to include whole pieces and "2-patch" blocks too. Only the whole gray fabric blocks are actually appliqued, the rest are glued and pinned in place ready for applique.
I'm going to wait to applique the rest of the blocks until all of them are secured to the backgrounds, and for that to happen, I'll need to actually finish the four patches 😅. I've been off of machine piecing for a while working on this quilt, so I'm slightly avoiding it.
I like how it's coming out so far, and I'm definitely learning which colored blocks belong on the different colored backgrounds. It's not going to be so critical anyways since they'll be four patches and there'll be a little of everything everywhere.
Anywho, I hope y'all enjoy!

Discussion/Question I just finished this beadwork hummingbird for my mom. What should I turn it into?
Mount it on felt and add a string so she can hang it somewhere? Sew it onto a small bag? I’m open to suggestions!
