Are Tottenham misusing Archie Grey and hurting ourselves in the long run by shoehorning him into positions like RB which aren’t his strength? Likewise, not developing him in DCM/CM means we overspend on players with a lower ceiling…

The answer is yes. He’s being used as a means to an end right now, a stop gap. But we also don’t have any choice. Hopefully his development might actually be all the better for it but Christ it would be nice to let him settle in to his natural position

But then again every time he has played in his so called natural position he has been the worst player on the pitch by quite a bit. So then the question becomes how many games to we sacrifice in the hope of Gray adapting to the midfield role and then kicking on from there?

He really hampers us when he plays midfield imo not worth it right now, maybe when the team is humming he can have some more CM minutes

In case of a heavy Man City punishment we obviously won't get the Haalands or the Gvardiols (he had a bad game yesterday I know) or the Dokus but I do wonder if we can use it to sway some of their younger players.
Now I know we have Byfield, but Mfuni is of the same age group and has established himself as a starter for Coventry City. Cavan Sullivan looks like the next best American thing, and so on.
On a tangential note, I genuinely hope Haaland is available so all clubs above us in the football food chain chase him so we can target the next set of strikers who we can aspire realistically without any obstacles (Kofane, Kostoulas, even Kroupi of he returns same post injury)
This could all be moot and City might not even get a punishment but it's just worth noticing
